What kind of oil does the 2016 VW Passat take?

There are three distinct engines offered on the 2016 Volkswagen Passat. The first two are each different variants of the 1.8 liter turbocharged 4Cylinder, and finally we have the 3.6L 6 cylinder. Each of these requireS5.8 quarts of SAE 5W-30 full synthetic oil, meeting the Volkswagen oil quality standard. In its absence, You can substitute SAE 5W-40 for the short term. The use of higher viscosity oil in the long term is not recommended, because of the friction that it introduces to Your engine.
