There are several issues that could lead to a coolant leak in a Dodge Avenger. The first is a ruptured cool mine, or a faulty hose clamp didn't have enough forced to hold the hose on. There may be a hole in the radiator, a piece of road debris could have hit it. Sometimes the water pump gaskets fail and coolant begins to leak from them. The coolant circulates through the engine and there is a thin gasket between the head and the top of the block will it fails the coolant in the engine can leak out. A ruptured heater core would cause coolant to leak into the front passenger floorboard. If too much coolant is leaking, it could lead to an overheating situation and damage the engine.
