If You have an automatic transmission, the recommended fluid is DEXRON-IIiAutomatic Transmission Fluid. Now, if You own a manual V6 engine, then this fluid is recommended, SynC-HRomesh Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. 12345349 or equivalent). If Your engine is manual L4, Friction Modified SynC-HRomesh Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. 12377916) is recommended. The purpose of transmission fluid is to keep it clean and lubricated. It also provides cooling properties so that it does not overheat. If it does overheat then You're going to have an expensive problem in Your hards.

Dexron III. But Dexron VI will improve the performance of your Older model transmission. Dexron VI was introduced in 2006.

Dex Merc is the same as Dexron 111 and mine calls for Dexron 111
