The automatic shut down (ASD) relay in Your 2002 Dodge Dakota will be found in the power distribution center (PDC), which is another word for the fuse and relay box that You find in Your engine compartment. It's located on the driver's side of the compartment, between the battery and the brake fluid reservoir. You'll need to remove the cover to access the relay. The location of the ASD is position R2. If You don't have a diagram handy, You can easily find it by locating the tight grouping of two large relays on the upper right side of the block. R2 will be the bottom one, or the one that's nearest to You if You're standing in front of the truck to investigate.
