Depending on Your configuration, Your 2004 Ram 1500 with the 4.7L V8 engine will have a fuel tank capacity of either 26 or 35 gallons. While most models will have the smaller 26 gallon tank, the variation comes not from engine size, but rather from body configuration. You'll typically find the 35 gallon tank option on Quad Cab 1500s with the long bed option, but there are a few different configurations with an optional upgrade. Still, if Your Ram 1500 is froM2004, that ship has sailed; You pretty much have what You have. While some drivers report successfully performing an upgrade replacement themselves, it's important to note that not every single body style has the room for the additional 9 gallons of tank size.
