What's the 2005 Chevy Equinox knock sensor location?

The knock sensor on a 2005 Chevy Equinox is located on the upper part of the engine just above the oil filter. The knock sensor is basically a microphone that listens for abnormal knocking and pinging coming from the engine as it runs. If it detects an abnormal sound coming from the engine it will send a signal to the computer which will attempt to adjust the engine performance. The computer does this by adjusting the air and fuel mixture either try to make it run a little richer or leaner attempting to resolve the issue. You will need to unplug the electrical connector and loosen the bolt to remove the sensor itself, but other tools may be needed to remove various components in order to get to it.
