Only use SAE 5W-30 engine oils in the 2005 Jeep Liberty that are API Certified and meet DaimlerChrysler Material Standard MS6395 requirements in the 2.4L and 3.7L gasoline engines. In the 2.8 L diesel engine use SAE 0W - 40 Mobil 1 Synthetic Engine Oil that meets or exceeds API categories CF and the DaimlerChrysler Material Standard MS-10725 requirements. Both the 2.4 L and 3.7 liter engines hello oil capacity of 5 quarts. The 2.8 liter diesel engine has the capacity of 6.4 quarts. It is recommended to have the oil changed every SRX months or SRX thousand miles whichever comes first. A typical oil change will cost under $100 and includes the oil and filter.

Okay you backyard mechanics, lol. Just kidding. Its very simple to know what weight of oil you are suggested to use on your vehilce. Look at the top of the cap where you poor the oil in. ON the Jeep Libery's with the 3.7L V6, It suggests 5W-20
