The 2005 Nissan Maxima has two separate fuse boxes, one in the vehicle and the other outside under the hood. The fuse panel in the engine compartment is situated on the right side of the car by the battery terminal. There will be a diagram on the top of the lid of the box that will tell You what each fuse is used for, mostly the external lighting, the A/C system, the horns and the warning. The internal fuse box can be located on the driver's side beneath the instrument panel. This will house indoor components such as power windows, tv, moon roof, navigation, etc. The fuse varies from an ampere rating of 7.5 to 30 based on the amount of power needed for the system.

There are in fact three fuse boxes two under hood and one under left side of steering wheel. The first under hood one is by the right side of engine by battery and the second one is on the left side of engine by powering steering reservoir under a plastic cover.

There is also a third fuse box located under the plastic cowl in the engine bay, above the passenger side tire.
