Really reliable 2005 Nissan Maxima
My cars performance is good to be a 2005 it's reliable only minimum problems such as needing a tune up new hose and a oil change it really ride's good and very spacious the radio really is nice. This is a great car.
accountCircle Gabriela R
It is lasting some so long, but the rear seat space is limited if you have kids.
Some transmission problems in the past but it is been a good loyal car to me. If you keep it oiled up it will run forever. I bought it used so it already had some issues with the control arms that had to be replaced. Not sure if that was a pre-existing condition or from use. The space in the back is a bit limited for the passengers though.

Fast, Reliable if taken care of
My maxima has lots of problems. I currently can't access my trunk. It's stuck. There's a belt and chain problem. Car still runs like a champ. It is reliable. Just has lots of parts falling apart because its old.
accountCircle Sha M
Love how the car has heated seats and steering wheel great features for winter.
I have had my car over a year now and have not had any major problems for how old the car is. Always a smooth drive and does great on the highway. I live in KS and drove it to Mexico and Texas multiple times. I like it just as much as I liked my Honda. I plan on keeping this car tell the wheels fall off.
accountCircle Kristy W
It is a old but dependable and good car it runs better than I thought it would for it to be as old as it is great car
I don't have any complaints about my car for an older car it is a very good car that gives me minimum to hardly any trouble at all

Is a good working car low mileage and good horsepower.
Runs good, clean engine, body in good shape the gas mileage is great.
accountCircle Jose S
Great car, definitely check it out.
It is a fast car and it has a great sound system. You can really rely on this car. It does not have a great stereo, so you will have to upgrade it or buy a Bluetooth adapter. The car is too long. I do not think it waste too much gas, compare to my other car.

I really like my car. It's very dependable.there's really nothing i dislike about it

Pieceo $hit/money pit
95% of the reviews given below must be from ppl that work for nissan or from ppl nissan has paid to write a good review about the pile of s#it cars that they have been putting out they have all kinds of problems with there wiring, the ECM, PCM, TCM, BCM, ABS, THE DRIVETRAIN, CAM sensor go bad all time and nissan charges $130.00 for one and$80-$90 for the other one cars now a day's are a joke they needto get rid of this emission bullshit and go back to the carburator and an actual wire gas pedal to help with all these d**n sensors that fail like crazy and cost a ton of money to buy when you know it onlycost these car manufacturers probably 2-3 dollars at most to make the d**n things every year they add more and more sensors, add more plastic and less metal which means its costing them less and less every year to make these cars and yet the price to buy one keeps going up and up yet your getting a more unreliable car that will more than likely not make it past 80,000 miles without have some type of major mechanical issue that will cost you at least a few thousand dollars to get fixed back in the day of the carbonated/ naturally aspirated cars they would at least go 150-200,000 if not more miles before you would even have to change your water pump and that was about the most expensive thing that would go wrong cost you about 30 bucks plus tut he cost of a few gaskets and a timing belt or chain and a little know how to fix it now in this day and age the actually go out of their way to engineer it in ways that make it more difficult if not impossible for your average person that doesn't have the special tools and diagnostic computer to be able to fix it just so they can take more of your hard earned money when you have to take it back to them to get it fixed these days are full of greedy a*s ppl that should be taken out and hanged for how they go around and con pple out of their money for some pile of c**p that I's designed to fail so you have to take it back to have em fix it or buy a new one just so they can fatten their bank account their day will come through I surprised that no one has went out shooting up the car dealers and manufactures hell they might as well be breaking into your house and robbing you every night and getting away with it. Cause that's exactly what they are doing and then the just bank on ppl that don't have the knowledge of mechanics and the ppl that just don't pay attention enough to see that they are some of the biggest crooks out there and they get away with it every day that is until somebody has enough of this united states corp. Bullshit and crooked asso called elite society MFer's and starts unleashing the hell that they brought apon themselves for being the bunch of giant d****e bags that they really are and just starts taking these bastards down by whatever means need be and starts to make an actual place where ppl help one another out instead of being like it is today where a bunch of money hungry ppl that go around doing worse s**t than most criminals in prison have done are out running this country are doing now our gov is a bunch of low life pieces of s**t and so are these car manufactures I hope they all die a slow, painful, and agonizing death and rot in hell for the s**t they have turned this country into take their money away and they would be able to survive a week I guarantee it pretty andwhen someone that has nothing will give you a helping hand before these rich greedy assholes would even let the thought of helping someone even cross their mind but they are the ones that have the most to lose if you look at it that way you can take a portion means money and it ain't gonna slow him down much but if you take away a rich man's money you might as well of taken that son of a bitchessence life cause they wouldn't know the first thing to do with their all mighty dollars and that's just my opinion on that matter don't be a fool and buy a nissan they are junk vehicles their is a reason they have so many lawsuits against them right now.

- 5*'s. These cars were very poorly designed
All sorts of wringing issues they are a pain inthe as$ to work on the timming tensioner pushes on a piece of plastic which will eventually break and fall down and then if you are lucky it won't bend the valves or grenade your engine then on top of that you either have to pay an arm and two legs to get it fixed or fix it yourself like I had to in the middle of winter of all times nissan did a very poor job on the designing of these cars and they know all about the issues and still continued to make and sell these cars i hope they get what'scoming to them for being such a dishonest and money hungry manufacturer you pay $30,000.00 dollars for something you would think it would last more than a year and you have to fight with them anytime you try and get anything on your warranty. I'm very displeased. Nissan used to make good cars not after they merged with Renaultthen on top of that you either have to pay an arm and two legs to get it fixed or fix it yourself like I had to in the middle of winter of all times

The longevity of the car seems to be very poor.
My car tail pipes blow tons of exhaustion fumes out when I crank it. The rear view mirrors close up while driving after making sure they were out correctly before driving. It sometimes quits running while I am driving. The engine is going bad. I have been told not to put anymore money into the car. These cars seem to not have longevity. My car has cream of the crop with all the extras. But if it does not run those are useless.
accountCircle Matthew S
It is not eco-friendly. It is merely better than some of the other fossil-fuelled cars.
I wish this car was solar-powered. I do like that it has good fuel economy and still has a cassette player. I like its power. I don't like how long it takes to stop.
accountCircle Johanna G
It is great gas mileage. It has been very dependable over the last 13 years
I wish it had Bluetooth I wish it was a SUV I wish it had a backup camera
accountCircle Nikki B
It's a very unreliable vehicle and has maintenance issues.
It has a lot of mechanical issues and all of the electrical items are broken or breaking. The transmission is going out for the 3rd time.
accountCircle Kristen G
I do like the body and interior design of my vehicle. I just wish it was safe to drive, and transmissions are far to expensive, worth more than the car itself.
The transmission is shot. It's not safe to drive anymore. Nissan actually has plenty of complaints about their transmission quality.
accountCircle Kal S
Gas consumption too high and it needs repairs often.
Old, costly to repair. Gas consumption is way too high and it breaks down often. The repair cost is a lot of money more than the car is worth.

A must do maintenance vehicle
I own three Nissan Maxima’s and one Nissan Altima. This is the type of vehicle that you absolutely have to change the oil and change the transmission fluid according to manufacturer specifications

2005 Nissan Maxima, ~141,000 Miles
My car has just over 140,000 miles on it and I have only had it for a year and a half. When I first bought it, I immediately had to replace the alternator. Otherwise it has driven well, I really like the car besides other problems that have arose. The ABS sensor and another sensor have to be replaced, as well as belts (I'm assuming from a noise its making, have yet to get it checked out). Overall I like the car and I think its age is starting to get the better of it.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Sam M.

I have had this car for too long but a pro about my vehicle is that has been a reliable car so far. It has not had too many problems that I have had to fix, so financially it was a good choice of a car.

likeFilled Lauren K.

It is very roomy and has good gas mileage and all the features I want in a car. It also has a great engine in it and stereo for factory issue. It is dependable and the trunk is huge I can literally fit major grocery hauls all in there.

likeFilled Thiago Z.

This vehicle is fuel economy and it's perfect to get around the city with all this high gas prices, perfect for work when you have to drive everyday. Lastly this vehicle is spacious easily fits 5 and enough trunk space.

likeFilled Chloe B.

Drives smoothly, has a moonroof, comfortable interior, spacious, stock sound system is awesome, automatic windows for both driver and passenger, electronic side mirror controls, drivers seat is electronic.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Sam M.

I have not had my car for too long to really notice a lot of cons. But, if I had to choose one it would probably be that the interior is easy to Mark, Scratch, and rip. It is nothing too bad, but if I had to pick a con that would be it.

dislikeFilled Lauren K.

It is year I guess because it is 15 years old it has higher mileage but with proper maintenance it can last a lot longer. The bigger engine does take from the maximum mileage for gas you could obtain but it is ok. The interior would be better if it were leather not cloth. It needs heated seats also.

dislikeFilled Thiago Z.

The only cons of this vehicle I can think of is that it does not have a GPS in the dashboard. Also this make and model only have a minimal selection of colors. Lastly I think it could have leather seats.

dislikeFilled Chloe B.

Mats that come with car do not cover the whole carpet, trunk does not have a button to open without the keys or being inside the car so if you do not have your keys you have to go into the car to open the trunk, doors do not have key holes so if the unlock battery dies you have to get it replaced.
