If You want to know what the transmission fluid capacity is on the 2006 Honda Ridgeline is, look no further. The Ridgeline for this year comes with a capacity of 8.6 US quarts. If You're looking for which type of fluid to use then it is e Honda ATF-Z1. Some of the products that You can use are Valvoline Full Synthetic Transmission Fluid Multi-Vehicle or Beck/Arnley Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Z1. The purpose of transmission fluid is to preserve the life of the transmission. It helps to lubricate, clean, and regulate the temperature so that it doesn't freeze or overheat. I recommend to check the fluid level at least once a week with daily use.

That is incorrect. When doing a drain and fill it will take less than 4 quarts. Generally about 3.3 Although the transmission may have a capacity of 8.6 only about 3.3 quarts will drain from removing the drain plug.

I would start with 3.5quarts. Drive a few miles and re-check. Add if needed.
