The fuel filter on a 2008 HyundaiAccent is located on the top side of the gas tank. In order to get to it the rear seat would need to be removed in order to get to the access panel. Before You disconnect the fuel filter start the engine and then remove the fuel pump fuse. This will drain most of the gas from the lines, let the vehicle run until it stalls out. Let the car sit for a minute and then try starting again repeat the process until the car will not start. Once You remove the rear seat take a Flathead screwdriver to pry up and remove the access panel from the center of the car. Disconnect the fuel lines and remove the fuel filter.

The fuel filter on your Hyundai is non-serviceable item inside the fuel tank. It’s integrated into the fuel sending unit. Removal of the fuel tank is required. I own a 2008 Hyundai Accent and recently found this out when I removed my back seat only to find the fuel pump and not the fuel filter next to it like in some other earlier models. I wasted money on the filter. I need to take it in to a shop now.
