The starter relay on a 2009 Toyota Corolla is located behind the head unit, inside the center dash. In order to access it, You'll need to remove a fair amount of trim panels, Your head unit itself, as well as the gear shift knob. While the relay is relatively simple to locate, test, and replace, You run a significant risk of damaging trim panels and electrical components if You're not careful disassembling Your dash. Once You have access, You'll find that the starter relay (the stock one, at least) is a bright purple color. This makes it very easy to locate and identify, and therefore replace. You can find replacements for no more than a few dollars; just make sure You have matching part numbers, or You'll create more problems than You solve.

The starter relay on the 2009 toyota corolla can be in several different places, as it is often in the fuse box and those can vary. It will likely be in the glove box, in the dash, or in the trunk.
