While the 2011 Cadillac SRX comes in two different engine variants -- the 2.8T V6 turbocharged LAU and the 3.0L V6 LF1 -- they actually each use the same oil type and have the same capacity. In either, You'll need to use SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, preferably meeting the Dexos1 Gen 2 standard. In its absence, You'll find SAE 5W-40 a suitable replacement over the short term, though it's not recommended if it's avoidable. Using a motor oil with a higher weight means a higher viscosity, or a thicker oil. This translates to premature wear and tear from friction, which can eventually cause failure. Stick with the manufacturer's recommend oil with the lowest weight whenever possible; it may cost You more per oil change, but You'll save in the long term.
