The starter on a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 is located at the bottom rear of the engine on the drivers side. Before You begin, disconnect the negative battery terminal, take a 10-millimeter wrench or socket to loosen it and said it away from the battery. If You crawl underneath the cab just behind the front driver side tire and look right where the engine and transmission mate You will see it. To remove it You need a 15-millimeter socket and a ratchet. There are 2 bolts they hold the starter to the Bell housing. Once those bolts are out You can maneuver it out of position and let it rest on the front drive shaft. Unplug the push on electrical connector and the battery cable is held on with a 13-millimeter nut.
