The 2013 Dodge Ram 1500's coolant levels should be checked periodically. Always make sure the vehicle has been turned off for some time before opening the radiator or coolant cap. Fluids be extremely hot and are likely to spurt and splatter when the engine is at operating temperature. The Ram uses orange pre-diluted coolant featuring OAT technology for American cars. You can purchase this general purpose product at any automotive retailer. Use a funnel to top up the antifreeze, especially during warmer weather when the Ram's HEMI V8 works harder. The Ram's reservoir is located in the engine bay toward the middle and front of the vehicle. It will be covered by a yellow square cap that includes a dipstick for checking levels.

The 2013 dodge ram 1500 coolant is mopar® antifreeze/coolant, 5 year/100,000 mile formula (ms-9769), or the equivalent ethylene glycol base coolant with organic corrosion inhibitors (called hoat, for hybrid organic additive technology) is recommended.

After doing some research I have found that the dodge rams 2013+ uses Mopar ms-12106 which is also a coolant with organic corrosion inhibitors but is is called "OAT". There is also the "HOAT" type but that was recommended for the applications before 2013. Research shows you can not combine these two types and if you have, you need to flush your coolant out and use the recommended application. If this is incorrect, someone please chime in. I have looked on numerous sites that recommends this type for the 2013+.
