The 2014 Dodge Durango canister purge valve is positioned on the EVAP canister at the bottom of the vehicle near the fuel tank. Some of the signs of a defective valve are rough idle, trouble starting, and check engine light. The purge valve in the vehicle is used to control the amount of fuel vapor that is purged from the carbon canister operated by the ECU. The price of replacing the valve in the car would range between $120 and $200, with the parts being more costly, varying between $80 to $150. Labor isn't that hard to repair, and it's a pretty easy fix for someone who's mechanically familiar in cars and combustion engines.

On my 2014 Durango the canister was located behind the rear driver's side wheel. In order to access the canister for removal I had to remove the rear driver's side wheel and wheel shroud.
