Want to know where the oil filter is located on the 2015 Volkswagen Passat TDI The oil filter on the Passat is located on the back of the engine block. You will be able to see it slightly above the side of the oil pan. It is a black cylinder type of filter. The purpose of the oil filter on a vehicle is to screen out dirt, debris, and other foreign contaminants. It's important that You replace the oil filter each time You replace Your oil. You would not want to mix the old oil from an oil filter with the new oil that was just put in. It would really shorten the life of Your oil and we all know oil is not cheap.

The 2015 vw passat tdi oil filter is located at the bottom of the engine block.
Go to a reputable place. I was screwed over at jiffy lube and a trusted garage. They ripped the cover over the filter as the oil pours right out onto you if you arent aware. They didn't change the filter and just put new oil in. Buy the right filter.
Top of engine just adjacent to the bottom left corner of the plastic engine cover
