The type of oil that is used in the 2016 Jeep Patriot iS5W-20 synthetic in all temperatures for both of the 2.0 L 4Cylinder and the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine. The capacity for the Patriot iS4.5 quarts with a filter for both of the engines. Oil is used to lubricate engine parts for when the rub together to help with friction and to help keep the engine clean and running. Oil needs to be changed out every so often and in the Patriot it should be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles and that includes changing the filter. The cost of an oil change if taken to a mechanic is anywhere from $20 to $30 in just labor costs.

The manual says 5W20 Pennzoil is recommended it does not specify whether you can use synthetic or conventional so either will be fine

$20-$30 for a full synthetic oil change! I’d like to see where you can get that. It’s probably$20-$30 for a full synthetic oil change! I’d like to see where you can get that. It’s probably around $65.
