The Dodge Ram 1500 axle nut iS36mm in size. When You are adding or removing the lug nuts from a car then You will want to be careful not to damage them. If You overtighten them then You run the risk of snapping them or stripping them, especially if they are old or rusted. If You strip the lug nuts then they will simply spin in the socket and You won't be able to get them loose. If that happens then You will need a mechanical press to push them out, but this can damage the wheel. If You snap the bolts then You will need to remove the rotor on the wheel and unthread them from the back. Both of these are simple enough to avoid if You take some caution.

2008 Ram 1500 front drivers side hub nut. I read several posts and tried to use a calliper to measure the nut..The nut measured just under 1 1/2 inches. The posts said it would be either 1 3/8” or 36 mm. So I ordered a 36 mm socket. It came. I tried it. Did not fit. Too small. Tried a 1 1/2”. Too big . Tried a 1 7/16” and was able to remove it but the fit was loose. Then tried a 1 3/8” and it was too small. I will take the nut to NAPA next week and ask for a socket to fit it. I will post what I find out.
