If when You read the ECU You find a code P1DF3 that means that the vehicle's transmission control module has detected a fault. This means that it has taken longer to initialize the transmission than was expected. This could mean that You will need a new transmission control module, or it could simply mean that there was a bug while it started up.

I had this code pop when my battery died and I had to get the truck jumped. Once I replaced the battery the check engine cleared within a few start ups

My vehicle did the same thing after, replacing the battery, I restarted it a couple of times the engine light disappeared.🙏☺️
Same happen today, battery died Road side assistance jump start the truck. All charging n battery good.check engine light on code P1DF3. Auto Zone Print out on code states, Replace Transmission Gearshift Selector Assembly.
I changed the battery on a 2018 Ram 1500. Didn’t know you had to buy a 150.00 memory saver before disconnecting. It cranks and drives but lit up like Christmas tree. Air bag light anti sway seat belt no cruse control and other. I disconnected the cables and drained the system. Over night and have driven over 100 miles.. But everything is still lit up. Have been to 2 local granges and one put his altar dignostic on it. But it couldn’t marry the battery. Called the delearship but they want 200.00 to put it on there system. The battery was the same battery… but it’s looking for some number and it’s unable to find it so it throws up the code. My truck has little over 50k miles and was running perfect.until I changed that battery.. This is a scam to force people to go back to a dealer to be financially raped. There should be a class action lawsuit against Ram and every place that sales battery’s that doesn’t have a posted sign to warn people. I’ll haft to go back to the dealer and they will charge the fee pluse come up with something to charge more.

My wife's Ram 2019 died. Jumped it and the code came up. Been starting fine. Anyway to get rid of the code now?
I got the same code after replacing a dead battery. Everything was fine up to that point.
