If You're not still under warranty, the cost of the 2017 Chevrolet Volt's 12v battery will cost You an arm and a leg. The battery itself goes for juSTShy of $9,000, and installation will cost You an extra $500. Luckily, this is a covered part through many GM warranties, and Your 2017 may be new enough that it still qualifies. Hybrid and electric vehicles are great, until it comes time to replace the parts that make them what they are. Luckily, the batteries are designed to last ten to twelve years, so at an annualized cost of $950 or so, it's not as big of a hit. Still, the electricity costs hurt a bit, but You'll mitigate some with the gasoline coSTSavings.

The 12V battery is around $200 for the correct AGM battery with 600 CCA. My local dealer charged $75 for labor. The other replies were for the High Voltage traction battery, not the 12V.
