Where is the 2005 chevy equinox fuel filter located?

The 2005 Chevy Equinox does not have a traditional fuel filter. Instead, it uses a filter screen which is integrated into the fuel sending unit, or fuel pump, which is located inside the gas tank. The filter isnt a serviceable part and if clogged, the pump would need replaced. The Equinox has a saddle style gas tank that straddles the exhauSTSystem and the drive shaft, if it is an AWD version. The muffler and drive shaft have to be unbolted and removed. Depending on the condition of the underside of the vehicle, the exhaust might need to be cut off. Once those are out of the way, the tank will need to be supported and the straps removed. Lower the tank to get to the pump at the top of the tank.
