The 2005 Chevy Silverado's front airbag sensors should be mounted on the bottom of the front radiator supports. A sensor will be bolted to either side of the core and removeable after releasing a metal protective shield. The shield is secured by three-four15mm bolts. Gain access from underneath the vehicle. If the airbag warning light is illuminated, faulty sensors may be the cause. Alternatively, module wiring can interfere with their operation. Vehicle modules to consider for malfunction include the BCM, the Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module, driver door, passenger door, driver seat or passenger seat module. The cost to replace one of the Silverado's front airbag sensors ranges between $370-$390 in parts and labor.
