The 2006 Ford Expedition's fuel filter is located directly in front of the fuel tank, obscured by an access panel. In order to change it, You'll need a 10mm socket to remove the panel, and then the relevant tools to remove the filter itself. In all, a replacement shouldn't take more than an hour or two, at most. It's recommended that You change the '06 Expedition's fuel filter every two years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. Luckily, the filter can be found as low as around $10 (or potentially as much as $25 for a premium brand), so You won't break the bank in doing so. Just be sure to relieve the fuel pressure and wear protective safety glasses when attempting this or any other fuel system repair or replacement.
