Contrary to what some others here have said, the 1.8L variant of the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic houses the fuel filter inside of the gas tank. Therefore, it's not an inline filter, it won't be found on the body of Your car (or on a fuel line that's easily accessible), and it's not serviceable without dropping the entire fuel tank. Dropping the fuel tank is quite the task -- most Chevy Sonic owners would rather just pass it off to a certified mechanic.
