At the midline, the 2007 Toyota Camry v6 engine camshaft location sensor can be located on the right side of the motor. The sensor is situated just below or on the valve cover of the cylinder head line under the engine timing belt cover. The main function of the camshaft sensor is to define the camshaft's location as it is connected to the crankshaft. In order to calculate the amount of fuel it requires to inject for combustion and power, this data is then sent to the powertrain control module for use with the fuel injector and ignition system control. Some of the signs to look out for if You think You have a faulty sensor are the check engine light on, problems starting the vehicle or no start, and the car jerking or surge forward when accelerating.
