In the Toyota RAV4, the 4WD light staying on indicates an issue with the 4WD system. It's wise to connect Your vehicle to a scan tool, since this does not happen under normal operating conditions. The RAV4 should be indicating its issue to You through the use of a fault code, so You can see what the issue is before You go into a potentially costly and time consuming diagnosis. The issue will be something with the 4WD system, predictably. You may have issues with Your transfer case control module, Your differential, or Your 4WD fuse. The possibilities really are virtually endless, so it's wise to narrow down Your search with a fault code reading before You chase the wrong waterfalls.

If your toyota rav4 4wd light stays on it may mean that you have an issue with your o2 sensor, loose gas cap or the tubing downstream next to your mass air flow sensor.
