The reason for an airbag light on the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse can run the gamut, from something like a faulty electrical connection or switch, all the way up to a failed airbag module. Essentially, it's a catch all light that just points to an issue with the airbag system; as such, You should diagnose and repair it at Your earliest convenience, due to the air bags' role as an important safety feature. Still, You'll have quite the breadth of problems to look at. Perhaps one of the first things You should consider is a faulty clock spring, as this is a common component that fails in the Traverse. Check to see if Your horn is still working, which is a diagnosis step for the clock spring.

To reset the airbag light turn the 2014 Chevy traverse on and make sure the air bag light is on. Wait seven seconds, then turn it off. Now repeat this two more times and it should stay off. If the light is on then it may indicate there is an issues with the bag or the sensor, which can cause it to deploy when it should not, or to not deploy when it should.

Frequently there one main reason with two possible causes. Reason: Cheap, poor fitting connectors used for such an important function! Whenever the seat is moved forward or backwards the connector may come loose. I frequently have to giggle it and ensure it is connected by pressing the two ends together. If something is placed under the seat the same results. Also a weak battery could be the cause. I highly recommend using a battery charger to fully charge both batteries at least once every 3 or 4 months if you do mostly city driving.
