The vacuum pump in the 2013 Ford F-150 Ecoboost is not covered by the powertrain warranty as many owners have discovered, but is noted for being faulty and causing oil leaks in and around the master brake cylinder. This is usually due to a failed O-ring and is specific to metal pumps. Signs that it's leaking include discovering oil around the brake assemblies and the front of the engine. Cost to replace includes almost 4 hours of dealership labor and averages over $1,100 for parts and installation. The pump is found by the idler pulley and removing and replacing it requires time. The dealer will also perform a "leak test" to verify the oil is from the vacuum pump.

The pump for 2013 is on back of the engine on passenger side, not sure where your "best answer" is getting info from , but it's completely wrong.

I have a 2013 Ford F150 Platinum 3.5 Eco boost. There is a leak and can smell it from the cab. I am somewhat a mechanic but this looks like a tough job because stupid Ford engineered this pump location behind the passenger side of engine. HOW STUPID.

It is very common for 2013 ford f-150s to get a leak in the ecoboost vacuum pump, because of poor design. It is strongly suggested going to see a professional to have the vehicle repaired because the process is rather tedious, and difficult to do.

I parked my F150 2013 EcoBoost in my driveway,a couple of hours later I notice I had a mess of oil in my driveway ,Ihad no idea where it came from so I done some research and found out that it may be my vacuum pump because they were faulty on 3.5 motor ,I had no warning that there was anything wrong,so got it brought to a garage to get checked and they say I need a new motor I was wondering how come I never got anything saying that the vacuum pump was faulty while I had warranty now I have to pay for everything out of my own pocket, this is not good enough I have been a customer since 1985 and this is my 4th F150 ,I AM really feed up with Ford with the service they have given me.
