There are a number of reasons that a Honda CR-V won't start, and the cause can likely be narrowed down by some of the symptoms. You mention that the dash lights are flashing -- is this only when the key is turned Is it accompanied by a clicking noise, at least for the first few times You try Is the engine even trying to turn over, maybe once or twice The problem sounds like it's most likely Your battery. A dead battery can be caused by anything from a component that's draining power (like a light or an electronic) to a faulty alternator. You should be able to get it started once with a jump start, but You may need to soon replace the battery and perhaps the component that's draining it.
I came out of the gas station and tried to start my crv and it was like it was possessed. It wouldn’t start and kept making a clicking noise and all the dash lights were flashing. It was a dead battery which I had never seen a car act like that over a battery.

If the dash lights are flashing on a honda cr-v and it won't start it is usually a problem with the battery dying.

This was incredibly helpful information when our CRV appeared to be having a dashboard convulsion and light show before it suddenly died. Obviously electrical, and sure enough replacing the 4 1/2 year old battery was all that was necessary.
This was a lifesaver! Worked perfectly - jumped it off, took a few minutes of revving in the other car and then it started right up.Headed for a new battery now - will update if anything else come of it. Thank you!! (2016 crv)
