If You're replaced the tested the battery on Your Jeep Patriot and You know it's fine but the vehicle isn't starting then there are two very common reasons for this. The first reason is that the alternator has gone bad. A replacement will cost between $100 and $150 and if You want to take it in to a shop You're looking at $350 to $550 for part and labor. The other reason is going to be Your starter has gone bad. A replacement is going to cost $50 to $120 in parts but if You need it installed the total cost will be around $400.
Hey everyone. After coming to find out my jeep patriot 2010 wouldn't start but had power when I turned the key on. It ended up being a broken wire inside the main relay box. (Driver side inner fender ) I started by removing air intake stuff and testing the starter with a hot wire . It turned over.Eliminating a bad starter. No dash lights so I knew the computer was OK. I took the 4 relays out and took apart the box that houses them. Inside I found a broken wire under the starter relay area . Re wired it and connected it . It fired up immediately
It means that you could have a bad alternator or a bad starter

Although there are a variety of reasons your Jeep Patriot won't start, the most common three are a clogged fuel line or filter, an alternator problem, or a faulty starter.
