The Dodge Durango and Dodge Ram 1500 that have the hemiMotor from 1999 througH2002 do share a transmission. If Your Ram 1500 transmission has failed and You found a Durango one it can fit. The first thing that You will want to do is check the model number that is located on the side of Your transmission bell housing. Make sure that that matches up with the one You want to put in the vehicle because that is the most important piece of information. Changing a transmission out is an expensive procedure, but You can save some money when You get one that is used, or has been refurbished. Dodge has used dozens of transmissions over the years in the Ram 1500 so just always make sure to know Your part number.
