The 2020 Honda Civic lasts around 250,000 miles with relatively minor stereo system and windshield issues reported. At $19,775 to $36,825, it’s expensive, but worth the money for one of the best compact cars on the market.

Interior materials are very nice for the Civic’s price, there’s plenty of passenger room and a lot of standard safety technology.
dislikeFilled The Bad
The touchscreen is difficult to use, the automatic braking system activates too often and the suspension is firm on rough roads.

The color is white this is my favorite color.
I don't have any problem yet, maybe on the fire I have, but now is everything okay. Is the best decision that a take in my life. Of course is new hahahaha. And it pretty good at everything you look for in a category car, offering not only and attractive price, good gas mileage and a good driving.

Reasons why I like my Honda.
The car has great miles per gallon and is easy to drive. I love that it is a reliable and dependable car for years to have. I haven't had any problems yet but I know the Honda dealership is great and is willing to work and help me out. Hondas have a great reputation and I love the fact that it will last me for awhile especially during long car rides.

Safety features for Honda civic.
It has a lot of safety features. It drives well. I would recommend this car to anyone. It is great of fuel. Has lots of room. I enjoy the sunroof. It breaks itself when you are too close to something. The radio system is amazing. They also offer an app and it tells you when maintenance is due.

Great on gas (eco). Spacious. Fast.
I love everything about my vehicle, no complaints. It is very easy to keep up with. Super great on gas, about $45 fills up my gas tank. Spacious trunk. Smaller back set area but still enough room. They're many areas to put things to keep car organized. Most importantly the speed is very good. Has eco for saving gas which is awesome.

Good on gas and can travel the distance.
Really good car for gas. Hugs the road. Can travel the distance. Very nice interior. Has all different type of features. Really outstanding car. Only problems are is it is a lil small. You would be really satisfied with this vehicle. I prefer the grey or all white. Or black.

2020 Honda civic sports touring hatchback: an all around great car.
The Honda civic sports touring hatchback is a super smooth ride. Seats are very comfortable with great speakers. I enjoy the apple car play. It is very convenient and easy to use. My only complaint is that it sometimes will not read my phone and I'll have to restart the car to get it going. It is a very soft feel. You can switch the “sport” feature on and off as you like. I find that it makes no difference in gas mileage which is already above average. I'd highly recommend this car.

Great looking and great running car. Since it is turbo, its is really fast on the highway. Get great gas mileage. Very roomy, lots of safety features. Apple play provides a good interface with texting and phone calls. The leather interior looks very sharp and sound system plays pretty well.

Disappointed!!!
I recently purchased a 2020 Civic Hatchback Sport on June 28,2020 and currently have 600 miles on it. Vehicle will not start and it’s a Sunday, so need to wait till Monday to take the vehicle in. What a inconvenience and a disappointment!!!

NOT A RELIABLE CAR
NO I DO NOT RECOMMEND 2020 HONDA CIVIC SPORT SEDAN. I BOUGHT ONE FROM TAMPA HONDA DEC 26 2020 AND HAS A A/C BLOWER MAKING A NOISE WHEN A/C IS ON. I TOO THE CAR TO TAMPA HONDA FOR INSPECTION AND THE SALES MAN JUAN PALACIO STARTED AN ARGUMENT WITH ME. AND TOLD ME TO BUY A ROLLS ROYCE IF I WANT A PERFECT CAR. AT LEAST HE RECOGNIZES HE SELLS TRASH. AND THE MANAGER WESLEY COPELAND TOLD ME TO DO A PERFECT HONDA REVIEW. AND HE WILL SWAP THE A/C BLOWER. FOR ME. THAT IS SOMETHING UNDER WARRANTY I HAD TO CALL THE BANK TO.STOP THE RETAIL CONTRACT PAYMENT. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH TAMPA HONDA.

Great Car
I like the Honda reputation its awesome so I bought one two days in and it wouldn't start and its in the shop. I'm hoping its nothing an old battery to much sitting on the lot we'll see. Its the worst thing that could happen. I'm hoping the Honda reputation is awesome and they'll fix it if not another great company that's fallen. I'll be back to post in a month to see what happens over time.

Just average.... Below average on other things
This is an average car... Lots of little annoying things with it that Honda cut back on to save in cost... Examples.... Only 1 intermittent wiper setting.... One windshield cracks easy skid plate breaks very easily battery back up only works windows after you shut the car off... No radio rims scrape on everything.... All 4 are scratched up becauserim extends further than the tires... Tire pressure sensors go bad easily....2 in one yr... And these are just ones off the top of my head.... There are more.... I'm pretty disappointed with the car in all honesty....

Humming sound of a Honda civic.
The only issue I have is the humming of the engine while sitting idle. It is very loud and hurts my ears. It is not necessarily loud, as much as it is annoying. It is almost like white noise. I have taken it to the dealership and they said it is normal for all Honda civics. That is very irritating because it does not sound normal at all to me.

Honda civic is a reliable car.
Car is very reliable on gas, no major issues, very sustainable, good mileage, comforting, eco and sports mods Stock tires are very good on dirt terrain. Seats are somewhat hard but are still comfortable. I'd really recommend or at least consider a 2020 Honda civic.

What Do Critics Say About the Honda Civic?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2020 Honda Civic is a mature and substantial compact car with high owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Civic at 4.5/5, praising the roomy cabin, but doesn’t like the overly sensitive forward collision warning system.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Civic a 4.7/5, enjoying the high resale value across the lineup, but owners don’t like the lack of an all-wheel drive system.

What Common Problems Does the 2020 Honda Civic Have?

Common problems found on the 2020 Honda Civic include the stereo system freezing, cracked windshields, along with the A/C system not working. Overall, these problems are relatively minor compared to other compact cars on the market, leading to low repair costs as the Civic ages.

The stereo system freezing is the most widespread complaint on the 2020 Honda Civic, showing up in the first 5,000 miles. There are software updates available for the stereo system which improves its reliability. Most dealerships will install these software updates for free, while some charge around $50.

Cracked windshields show up on some Civic models in the first 10,000 miles as well. Owners report that there were no chips or impacts before their windshields cracked. Usually, this is a sign of a manufacturing defect which causes the windshield to crack while heating and cooling. Replacing the windshield costs around $550, depending on local labor rates.

The A/C system not working has also been reported in the 2020 Civic at 15,000 miles. Usually the problem is caused by a clogged or dirty cabin air filter which prevents airflow from the A/C system. Replacing the air filter costs around $35. If there are additional blower or compressor problems, repairs can range from $300 to over $1,000.

There’s only one recall on the 2020 Honda Civic, which is better than other compact cars. The recall covers the fuel pump which may fail while driving. Honda will replace the fuel pump for free on affected models.

How Long Will the 2020 Honda Civic Last?

A well-maintained 2020 Honda Civic lasts around 250,000 miles, which is only slightly shorter than the long-lasting Toyota Corolla. Regular annual maintenance costs are lower than other small sedans, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $340 per year.

As a used 2020 Honda Civic reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the spark plugs for $250, the radiator hose costing $300, along with the air bag clock spring which costs around $400.

How Is the Technology?

Standard entertainment technology is fairly basic with a simple 5-inch central display screen. Optional upgrades include a larger 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with more powerful stereo systems.

Safety technology is excellent for a small car offering the Honda Sensing Suite which includes active safety features such as:

  • Lane departure warning
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane keep assist
  • Forward collision warning
  • Rearview camera

Optional driver assistance features include blind spot monitoring.

Is the 2020 Honda Civic a Good Value?

Yes, the 2020 Honda Civic is a good value since it’s reliable while offering a sporty driving experience for the money. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $19,775 to $36,825, making it more than a Kia Forte or Volkswagen Jetta. When new, the price range was $20,000 to $28,950. Depreciation is better than other cars, only losing about 2% of its current value per year in current market conditions. In normal times we expect it to lose about 5% of its value per year.

What Colors Does the Honda Civic Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Honda Civic?

The 2020 Honda Civic is known for its comfortable and spacious interior. The seats are well-cushioned and supportive, providing a comfortable ride for both the driver and passengers. The Civic also has plenty of legroom and headroom in both the front and rear seats, especially in the sedan and hatchback models, making it a good choice for taller passengers.

The Civic’s suspension system is also designed to provide a smooth ride, absorbing bumps and rough roads with ease. The cabin is also well-insulated, which helps to reduce road noise and makes for a quieter ride.

How Much Storage Space Does the Honda Civic Have?

The amount of storage space available in a 2020 Honda Civic depends on the model and trim level. The sedan version of the Civic offers 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, which is a decent amount for a compact car. The hatchback version of the Civic offers more storage space, with 25.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

In addition to the trunk and cargo area, the Civic also offers several small storage compartments throughout the cabin. These include a center console with a sliding armrest and storage bin, a glove compartment, door pockets, and cup holders. These small storage spaces are useful for storing items such as phones, keys, sunglasses, and drinks.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The tenth generation of the Honda Civic came out for the 2016 model year and was replaced by the eleventh generation in 2022.

2015: New SE model introduced which falls between the LX and EX models.

2016: Fully redesigned for the tenth generation with new technology, engines, and styling choices.

2017: Type R and Si models added to the lineup, hatchback options available.

2018: No major changes from earlier years.

2019: Larger 2.0L 4 cylinder engine offered in the Sport model, small exterior styling changes.

2020: Improved brakes on the Civic Type R, updated front bumper on the Civic Si.

2021: New paint options for the Type R model, Si model removed from the lineup.

How Does the Honda Civic Compare to the Competition?

The 2020 Honda Civic is an excellent compact car since it offers a more fun and sporty driving experience than a lot of the competition on the market paired with good reliability ratings as it ages.

The Honda Accord is a larger sedan available from Honda which starts at around $3,500 more. Passenger room is better in the Honda Accord, while the Honda Civic offers a more responsive driving experience. We recommend the Honda Accord since it’s more practical for a daily driver, although both are great sedans worth test driving to see which fits your lifestyle better.

The Toyota Corolla is another compact car which costs around $1,500 more. Long-term reliability ratings are slightly higher on the Toyota Corolla, while the Honda Civic is more fun to drive. We recommend the Toyota Corolla to many people, although both are excellent choices and the decision comes down to personal preference.

Overall great value for the vehicle. All the standard features and comfort are all a plus. The gas mileage is superb. Plenty of space in the front and back seats. The car drives great I can turn on sports mode and get into and out of traffic without hesitation. It is only 1.5 but with a small turbo that helps it pick up speed when you need it. This car has great gas mileage I am a heavy foot driver and I can only get it down to 30 mpg best I have done with the ecoboost and driving slow everywhere was 40 mpg. I like it for what it cost.

I would suggest new car buyers purchase the Honda civic sport if they want a more sporty look and faster car. The Honda civic lx is not a push-to-start vehicle, which I thought would be a great idea. The Honda civic lx is comfy inside, but the vehicle is too low to the ground.

2020 Honda civic lx sedan, comfortable, modern and user friendly.
Completely reliable and runs smooth. The seats are very comfortable and it is very user friendly. The speedometer is very clear and gives you a straight-forward number of how quickly you are going. It also shows when you are not using gas and when you are being eco friendly. A green bar of light will illuminate when you are in eco mode. It absorbs bumps and curves easily and makes for a very smooth ride. The car speeds up rather quickly and allows you to have control over the car. The gas mileage is great and the monitor behind the wheel shows exactly how many miles you have in your tank. The full tank gets around 330 miles of drive. There are multiple different light settings one of which has a program where the brights will come on automatically and can sense when there is no oncoming traffic. This becomes very helpful at night and allows you to focus on driving. There's a backup camera which is very helpful and gives you a full range of sight when reversing. The media monitor is easy to use and straight forward. You can plug in your phone to play music or use the built in Bluetooth. It displays what is being listened to on the monitor and has great, full sound. You can change the settings on the monitor to adjust the color as well as the brightness and the visibility. There are two cupholders in between the passenger and the driver. There is also a console in between that can be opened and has a lot of storage space to hold whatever you need to avoid using the space under the monitor. There is more storage on the right side of the driver's seat closer to the floor of the car. The heating and ac is very exact and allows you to choose the exact temperature you want. It also gives many different levels of power so you can get the perfect amount of ac and heat.

Honda has been my vehicle of choice ever since my first car. I had a 2008 Honda civic lx coupe for about six years and rarely gave me any problems. My vehicle can do a lot of things.
The car is brand new and I love it! The drive is very smooth and easy and also everything is clear on how to do and perform. The company we deal with are very friendly too and they always help and answer our questions. Overall, very satisfied.

I love the black rims that came on the car.
No problems with my vehicle as of yet. I purchasing in July and so far I absolutely love how smooth it rides and it is pretty good with gas. It is very comfy I just with the back had a little more room for people. One thing I do not like is how the back does not have any cup holders.

Honda civic: a very good car.
I really like this car! Hondas are reliable, good cars. It has great handling and I love the screen and ability to use carplay. It also has a good amount of space and additionally has good mileage. I love taking it for long drives just for fun. I would definitely recommend it.

My Honda civic and the future.
I drive a 2020 Honda civic and I love it. So much space and comfort, it drives really smooth and it is features are great. If you need to improve your insurance rate, this car is very helpful with that. It is an awesome looking and running car. I am happy with my vehicle.

The 2020 Honda accord is a must have!!
I love my Honda accord, the rear end camera helps me detect objects or people if I cannot see them on my rear view mirrors. My car runs smoothly even on the toughest terrains. The seats feel incredible and is super comfortable. The 2020 Honda accord is a very sweet model.

Best car for safety, value, and style.
No problems, performance is great. Safety features are amazing, lane departure and back up camera are very helpful. Seats are very comfortable. Car is very stylish. Love the XM satellite radio and Bluetooth capability. I can change the station on my touchscreen or steering wheel, so it is very convenient and safe to do while driving.

Looks like a sports car with the comfort features of a modern, high tech sedan.
Easy acceleration and control. Smart sensors are wonderful and preventing collisions. The tech features for hands free communication are excellent. Lane keep assist is one of my favorites to use on long trips. Mpgs can be excellent depending on driver's use of the vehicle.

Civic
Tengo un civic 2020 solo con 800 millas y se le escucha un golpeteo en el motor (I have a 2020 civic with only 800 miles and engine knocking)

Great gas mileage and the turbo is awesome!
The performance is great. While driving through Utah my gas tank notification light came on and I was able to drive 70 miles on empty. The comfort is amazing. Leather seats are great and seat warmers are awesome. Electronica seat adjustments are great as well. The car has a sunroof also which is nice to keep cool in the evenings. As far as reliability it is a Honda and it is brand new, I haven't had anything to speak of yet. If it is anything like my last civic it will get a lot of miles.

My vehicle is very futuristic like and it breaks for me.
I am really loving my car because it drives super smooth and has an add in where it will loudly beep at me if I am too close to a car. It will even break for me so if you fall asleep while driving you will not have to worry about hitting anyone. It also does this during cruise control as well.

The vehicle is very standard, it is tools help the driver like “lane departure”.
Good performance, the new civic has many safety features to help any new or old drivers on the road. Although, I did get the very basic civic and I wish I did more “bells and whistles” for enjoyment. The car itself drives beautifully though and I wouldn’t trade the engine for the world.

Really great car random review.
Love how fast it can be. It can be an automatic or manual and has sport mode. One of my favorite features is the automatic door lock when you walk away from car in case I forget to lock it. Remote start is a bonus for winter. Back up camera. Has lot of customizable features.

Gas efficient and comfy cruiser!
I love that my car has a feature called 'brake hold.' It allows you to take your foot off the brake when you are stopped at a stop sign, a stoplight or stuck in traffic. It also has remote start which allows you to start the car before getting in. It drives well (though it is not great in the snow) and is a comfortable ride. I like how I can spend $25 dollars on gas to completely fill the tank from empty and it lasts me 3 weeks or so. It is cloth but the seats have a leather trim and the back, middle seat is leather giving it a luxury feel; I actually now realize I prefer cloth to leather for the reason that it does not get drastically hot or cold in extreme weather.

Interesting vehicles to drive.
Its engine options are very good, its handling is smooth and competent, and it also gets a great fuel economy. That said, the comfort that the civic's seats provide those passengers may not be the best in the class, but they're still pretty decent overall.

The Honda civic 2020, best valued car in America.
The 2020 Honda civic sport is a very great car. I love the handling of the car, it is easily the best handling car I have ever driven. The seats are very comfortable too. My favorite thing about the car are the safety features like lane keep assist and road departure mitigation.

Great for a party of one.
My car is fuel efficient and handles well on the road. It is the perfect size for a single person with no children or major transport needs. The technology is advanced, but not overwhelming. I have been able to learn more about my vehicle as I drive it. I have not had any major concerns as it relates to reliability as it is still fairly new, but I am pleased with it dependability.

It is an amazing car if you are looking for something small and just.
It cost me around $18',000 and it is a really good car so far. I used to have a ford pickup, and by far this is better in every way imaginable. This makes little to no noise even when I am on a bumpy road. It looks and smells good and am happy I chose this model. All in all it is a very good car, but what surprised me the most was how good the handling and brakes were.

Great compact car for the price!
I love the look and feel of the car. It is a smaller car, so may not be comfortable for a taller individual. The car drives well, has decent pick-up and I appreciate all of the warning signals that it provides for lane departure and brake. The only thing I have found that I do not like is that when it rains and you open the door, the water drips off of the roof and into the car.

Awesome car, with great features, and looks.
I really love the color and look of my car. The tires and rims are so fancy. It drives smoothly and has a lot of power more than I knew it had. It is the perfect size and great on gas. It has so many cool features and a great dashboard. Love the sunroof. Overall I love it.
