This is the fourth Leaf I've owned since the first 2011. I've upgraded every two years claiming the Federal and State tax credits and rebates. I've had no problems (except a front cameral that malfunctioned and was replaced under warranty). No oil, gas, and no DMV road taxes until 2020. It was time we paid our share for the road system. It's a rolling computer with many safety features and the tech package is worth the extra cost. I haven't paid for charging since there are so many free chargers including all Nissan dealerships. Everyone should own one of these beauties.

Still running GREAT after 5 years...
One of the best cars I've ever owned. My first LEAF was a 2013 lease, I leased again in 2015. In 2017, Nissan sold me the car with 8150 miles and 12 bars for $4,020. With tax, that was a little more than $5k total. Sure, it's only 85 mile range. But after 5 years I'm at 11 bars and still getting 85 miles around town, 75 with heavier freeway driving. What's not to like? It's perfect and all I need. I have other cars for long range but the LEAF fulfills 97% of my driving needs. No oil changes, no maintenance bills. All I have ever done to this car is change the tires and wiper blades.

After 7 years you will need 10 k to change batter and struggle all 5 years before it, cannot go far after 2 year it’s dropped 4 bars. After 7 dropped 7 bars, 5 left and gives you only 40 mikes
Terrible battery life, through away car after 7 years no volume

Battery
Ignore Shane....there is no transmission in an electric car..? Great car! I had a 2014 before buying the 2018 and even the 40kwh pack is more than sufficient for my 80km/day commute. Only need to charge it every 2nd day. This one with the 60kwh pack I would need to charge every third day.

Great commuter and short road trip car.
The Nissan leaf s plus performs like a sports car! It has great torque when needed (such as when merging and passing) and it's very comfortable. The mileage drops considerably when the heat or ac is used. The heated seat and steering options are also very beneficial.

Transmission
Do not buy a Nissan. They continue to have transmission problems and they do not cover the costly repair.
