2007 Subaru Forester Overview, Reviews, Ratings & Specs

The vehicle gets great gas mileage. While maintaining decent horsepower. It is roomy enough to be comfortable and has adequate cargo space. It has a smooth ride. It has good visibility, the windows/pillars are spaced well. Heated seats are a wintertime must here in the Midwest.

A con is that it is a very old car and will have problems. A promise that it will be affordable and last through more than you might think. Mine has survived a snowy ditch and dropping a pipe on the highway among other things.

Small and compact, great gas mileage, comfortable to drive. It works great in all weather so you do not have to worry about the terrain either! Subaru's are reliable vehicles and this is my 4th one, so I would say they're also the safest vehicle out there.

The a/c and defrost buttons have a small orange light when activated which is difficult to see during bright sunny days. There are heated seats and rear window defrost, but heated mirrors would be very handy on frosty mornings. The a/c works intermittently though not low on freon. I have read it is common with this year/model for the a/c belt pulley to wear and cause the belt to slip off causing the a/c issues. The pulley cannot be replaced independently, but whole a/c motor must be replaced. So, a somewhat inexpensive pulley replacement becomes very expensive when whole a/c motor must be replaced. Seems this pulley issue could be better engineered.

It is old and the repair expenses are becoming untenable to sustain financially. I had to take out a new credit card to pay for the last repairs and I still cannot afford shocks. I cannot drive to a different state until I am certain my car is safe to drive.

It currently does not have window tint so the clear windows are a pain. There are also some oil leaks which make long-distance driving kind of painful, too. It does not go as fast as I'd like, it sorta chugs along.
