Heated seats, great handling!
Problems: so far the only problems I have faced with my Crosstrek is that three of my wheeling bearings went bad pretty much at the same time. Performance: great in the snow and rain. Reliability: great. I have never had a problem with the car not starting or stalling out. Comfort: the car has a sporty feel with tight steering controls which I personally love. Features: there are a lot of features offered on this car that can be added, but the features that come with the limited edition are, heated seats, electric windows, all back seats fold down.

The Subaru xv Crosstrek is my dream car.
I absolutely love my Crosstrek! It's very comfortable for long trips or just to run to the store and back. Lots of legroom in back so you do not have to worry about cramping your passengers. The heated seats are a wonderful bonus on chilly mornings. Haven't had any trouble in the winter either because of the AWD!

It is an hunchback but lifted!
The performance of this vehicle is phenomenal. When I turn the keys and start the car, the engine roars beautifully. As I press down on the gas pedal, my car goes from zero to one hundred very quickly. When driving in questionable road conditions, you wouldn't feel a thing.

Great car with low maintenance.
The car is great. I get very good gas mileage, and have never had to do more than regular tune ups/maintenance to it. The size is just right, not too big but not so small that I am dwarfed on the road. I love the flexible cargo area, with the option to pull down one, two or all three back seats if needed.

Great car for active lifestyle not necessarily for family.
The trunk space and backseat really is not big enough for family of four. Awesome turn radius though. The car has great gas mileage. Center console has weird rattle noise sometimes especially on highway at faster speeds. We really haven't had problems with it, just the one thing that was recalled a while ago (we needed to fix it before recall occurred but we were reimbursed).

Drives well in all road conditions and all weather conditions.
For the size of the car the gas mileage could be better. It is about 20-24 mpgs. I had to replace the clutch at 100,000 miles. Other than that, no issues. It tows a small trailer that I have well and I have towed larger u-haul trailers with it as well. Handle well in all weather. I have driven it in soft sand and it did well.

The Subaru Crosstrek is the perfect vehicle for getting out and enjoying nature.
The car is very comfortable and has been pretty reliable so far outside of some minor issues like changing the battery and repairing the ac but those are minor inconveniences that need to be replaced after a while in all cars. The only downside to performance is that the Crosstrek does not have the best acceleration but that is about the only complaint I have. The exterior of the car is sharp looking and it offers plenty of features for anyone who leads an active lifestyle and likes to get outdoors. I take my Crosstrek to many a trailhead and it handles dirt roads as well as it does main roads.

2013 Subaru Crosstrek review.
I haven’t had any issues with my car. It is great for road trips and camping. Plenty of space for groceries and luggage. Great gas mileage. The maintenance alerts on the vehicle are easy to understand. Features included for my car are a touch screen stereo and sunroof.

Subaru Crosstrek, the car I didn't know I wanted.
I love my Crosstrek. I bought it about 2 years ago and it has been my favorite car by far. It has great gas mileage and is incredibly comfortable. I have had very few issues with the vehicle. I have only had to replace lights here and there. The seats are comfortable and the back row folds down. For a small looking car, the back is spacious when the seats are folded in. I have comfortably fit 4 passengers. This car has taken me on drives that lasted upwards of 10 hours and only needed one gas refill during the trip!

It is so cute and not too big and not too small!
I love my car! I have had zero problems so far and I can take it anywhere! I have only had it for about 5 months. Subarus are known for last forever so I am happy to know that I’ll be able to keep this car for a long time. I definitely recommend this car! Especially if you plan on traveling or driving a lot!

High performance Subaru Crosstrek.
This is the first Subaru I have owned. I have always driven an SUV, but after having this car for several years, I am extremely pleased with this car. It performs well in all weather and I have never had a single issue with it. I love the electronics that allow me hands free phone and music. It is been on some lengthy road trips as well, so I can verify it is quite comfortable and gets terrific gas mileage. I am pretty much sold on Subaru and plan on my next car being the same car family!

The vehicle it's highly dependable and versatile
Even as a used vehicle I have yet to have any problems with my Subaru Crosstrek and having AWD standard is a nice bonus in the winter with icy roads and snow. The gas mileage could be better especially for its size since it's not a full SUV, but that's my only real complaint

Heated seats are awesome, especially when driving in snow.
I enjoy the heated seats and how much cargo I can fit into the vehicle. The tires and rims seem like magnets for things to get stuck in them. I have had to replace all four tires (Subarus are all-wheel drive) any time I have had a puncture that could not be repaired (twice now). That can get costly, but I do enjoy how the car handles in the snow.

Reliable and fun mid-sized car.
It is comfortably sized; not too big but it has good ground clearance and visibility. It is easy to drive, reliable, and gas mileage is good for an AWD vehicle. I would like higher mpg, but am willing to compromise because I like the rest of the car so much. I bought it used, and it remains reliable.

2013 all wheel drive Subaru Crosstrek.
Excellent in snowy condition. Great on saving gas. The car is spacious from driver, passengers and even the trunk. The interior is well designed. I love the feature that this car is all wheel drive. Any color suits this vehicle perfectly. Radio is awesome, USB port, aux and it even comes with Bluetooth.

Reliable, fun to drive, minimal service needed.
Very reliable, very little service issues, good gas mileage and rides smooth. Rear view camera is helpful, brakes are great. Still driving great at 85,000+ miles. Only minimal service visits and routine check ups. I highly recommend this vehicle and Subaru vehicles, we have owned several over the years and have no complaints.

The car is awesome in snow and ice, it has been durable requiring only routine maintenance. It carries all the sporting things I need and the rubberized mats that come standard are perfect. Absolutely zero complaints and worth the price.

Subaru crosstrek has been reliable but expensive.
It is not very good on gas. I go through tires quite frequently. Trunk storage is small for a family. It is expensive to maintain. Oil and coolant etc. Is expensive. It runs pretty good in snow. There are ski rack and kayak roof rack attachments that are available.

The super sporty xv Crosstrek!
The xv Crosstrek is a super reliable and safe car. I have driven it over 100,000 miles and it is still running really well. The only downside is that there is no sunroof, but other than that, it is a great car. Gets good gas mileage. It is starting to burn through oil quickly but it is already 7 years old so that makes sense. I like Subaru cars because they're really safe but also very affordable. Subaru dealerships are also very nice.
accountCircle Mark S on January 18, 2021
The car is fun and easy to drive.
The 2013 xv Crosstrek was the first model year for the car. It took a few years to work out all the details of what the consumers want, but Subaru did get several aspects right. Reliable and good value. The car is an economy vehicle, so it does not have power seats. Overall it is comfortable. I would prefer a bit more cargo space. Gets pretty good gas mileage.
accountCircle LE E on January 17, 2021
Great value for the cost of the car.
The car is very reliable, and gets great gas mileage. If there ever is something that needs to be fixed, it is easy to do and not overly expensive. The car is a good size, has a very spacious back seat and good trunk space. The ability to selectively put down the back seat as needed is wonderful.

Subaru Crosstrek worth the money.
I had virtually 0 problems for the first 6 years (other than oil change and brakes) I did have a couple of recalls done and have had some issues every since with burning oil. Everytime though Subaru has been more than fair and covered part of the costs, even past the warranty.

I have a 2013 AWD Subaru Crosstrek limited. The revving is nice and the tires.
I love the actual make of the car, but it is a used one. It does not work correctly as it should and it has a lot of issues with the transmission and electrical part of it. The sound system is not all that great either. I hear a lot of buzzing. I hear buzzing especially when I am driving too. My car is bumpy while driving it.

Nice looking car but get the extended warranty.
Is a nice compact SUV. It has not been the greatest with little annoying things going wrong. I am glad I got the extended warranty. The Bluetooth is a mess. Does strange things to my iPhone. The space for cargo is deceiving. It looks like it holds a lot but it does not. All that being said it is a good looking car, easy to drive. I love the backup cameras.

Subaru Crosstrek for the win- amazing and reliable.
Extremely reliable, stops on a dime, picks up speed with ease, spacious, good storage area in the back, most features are electric, good stereo system. Subaru’s are always my go to vehicle- but this is amazing. It is speedy but reliable. Because of the large windows it has good visibility- good leg room in all seats, it also has a moonroof.

Great car for all conditions.
Best car I have ever owned. Handles great in snow and rain conditions. 8” of ground clearance helps get out of tight spots, and I have not bottomed out. Fuel range is great for the size. Had to replace the engine because of high oil burn for this model year. However that has been my only significant issue in 90,000+ miles. If I ever get another car... This will be top of the list.

A great car with a lot of amazing features and capabilities.
I really love this car. It is very safe, well made, and has high performance. It is all wheel drive with other safety features, has 4 doors and a trunk, and has 5 available seats (driver, passenger, three in the backseat). The seats in the back can be put away in order to have extra trunk space. Up front there is a multimedia system that phones and other devices can connect to using the outlet ports with charging cords. There is also capability of radio service and CD playing. The mirrors work well and everything else works well. The seats can recline easily and the vehicle is very easy to maneuver on the roads. It fits in small spaces and can take a lot (running over curbs, driving in the snow, etc. ) It is a very comfortable car and well worth the money.

Once a Subaru Owner, Always a Subaru Owner.
I bought the Crosstrek because of the way it handles on the open roads. We live in a rural area with dirt roads. Love the durability and limited shaking of steering down these types of surfaces. I owned a Subaru XT many years ago is why I stuck true to the Subaru name when purchasing this vehicle in 2013. Also has a Sirius radio installed & GPS system. Since purchasing, I have had no major issues with it. Drives like a dream.

It does well in the snow. I feel like I go through tires very quickly. I have had a lot of problems with the check engine light and other lights coming on. It is not great on gas. I do have over 100, 000 miles on it. I feel like it is expensive to maintain.

Dependable, affordable and awesome!
I absolutely love my Subaru Crosstrek. I have had no issues with the car in the two years I have had it. I love the 18 inch clearance as it allows me to take my car off-road to remote camping places and campsites with no problems. It looks great in the outdoors and performs perfectly. I have taken it into the snow which has also been a great experience. I find that the tires handle well on all terrain I have experienced. Maintenance is simple because issues rarely arise with my Subaru. The oil is extremely easy to change, even for a rookie. The backseat is spacious and comfortable. The trunk is plenty large for camping equipment, sports equipment or any other bulky items. The interior is simple, but the Crosstrek offers nice features such as sunroof, backup camera, and roof racks. I have a roof top box on my car and it has not negatively impacted my gas mileage at all. I find that I consistently get 33 mpg on the highway with slightly less if I am driving surface streets. The colors offered by Subaru are also great and allow a person to show more of their personality through their vehicle.

Great gas mileage & serves the purpose.
It gets great gas mileage. There is limited leg room in the backseat. My biggest complaint is that the interior of the car is loud when driving, meaning that the car does not do a great job of blocking road noise. Mine was the very first model year, so there was a problem with the gear shift shortly after I took delivery. The heat shield needs to be replaced. Original battery lasted 6 years. No other issues.

I have had this car for approximately 2 years and I will never drive a car other than a Subaru. The way the vehicle drives in the snow is fantastic. I can travel significant distances without having to stop for gas often. I have never had any problems with the car and only have to do the regular routine maintenance. The car is very comfortable. I love the size of the car as it has helped me move multiple times however, it is not bulky or too big. I can comfortably fit enough people in the car.

The lights go out a lot but other than that it is a great car. I love the interior it is very spacious and comfortable. Subaru Crosstrek great little travel car.
I enjoy the AWD feature. When I first decided to buy it, I didn't really think it would make a difference on the driving performance. But once you get on the road you can feel the difference. AWD really does hug that road nice so you feel very well balanced while driving. Problem I have is the small engine, it is great for gas but does t have a lot of power. You want the more power when it comes to passing cars while driving on a long trip. Still handles great but just does not have a fast pick up. The inside is very comfortable for long trips and it has lots of spots to store items that make it convenient. So far my car has been very reliable with trips and letting me know if something is up with the car. For example the air pressure light will come on once it hits a certain number. It will not be too low either so you have enough time to go find a air pump.

Perfect car with a few superficial exceptions.
Had a transmission issue a few weeks ago but other than that it is been running great which is not bad for over 100k miles. I love the vehicle to pieces regardless of this though. The only downside is it's way too slow. There’s so many Subarus that are so much faster. Even much heavier Subarus like the outback or forester. I know there is supposed to be sport version of the Crosstrek for the 2021 model year but it does not have a manual transmission which in my opinion is ridiculous. Besides this small and superficial things. The car is perfect. It is small enough to be drivable with ease, big enough to be comfortable, and tall enough to accomplish surprising off-road tasks. It is amazing.

The little engine that could not.
Great vehicle for road trips and really great gas mileage. My only issue is the engine. Living in higher altitude, my car takes a long time to pick up any kind of speed at a stop light/sign or through mountain passes. Subaru’s tends to hold value. Besides the super small engine, it is a great little car.

2013 Subaru xv Crosstrek: a recall nightmare.
2013 - 2016 models have tons of recalls, when work needs to be done it is always expensive because the car is not designed in a way that makes it easy to do simple maintenance repairs. While Subaru is a reputable dealer I highly suggest looking into the year/model issues you can find online and make sure if buying used you check to see if all the recalls have been performed.

It is a good car but don't like that it is a CVT transmission. We have also had issues with it overheating and burning oil. It is recommended 0,20 synthetic oil but really you need mobiles high temperature 5, 30 oil to help sustain less consumption and prevent further damage to the engine

The live in Subaru.
Bought my car used from a dealership in 2017. I bought it with high mileage but good history, and since I bought it, the car has been in the shop 4-5 times for serious issues. First the axle and boot needed to be replaced within a week of purchasing the car, then I had to replace the transmission, then I had to have the engine short block replaced because of a manufacturer defect, then it is been in and out of the shop due to issues shifting.

Subaru Crosstrek review -- one of the best vehicles.
It is a comfortable size -- not too large but just large enough that you can fit a lot in the car. The gas mileage is fantastic and I have taken it on many road trips. The car is sleek and comfortable and the features in the car are fantastic. It has the look of a very expensive car and after many years with the car I have had very minimal problems or issues with it. I have loved driving the car and would buy another Subaru when this car hits its shelf life.

Summary of 2013 Subaru vehicle.
I have a 2013 Subaru xv Crosstrek. It is an cvt engine which means it is both automatic and manual. It is all wheel drive and is great in the snow. It can tow 1500 lbs. If you have a hitch. I have a sunroof, and basic radio, which I love. I do not need anything fancy. But what I love, is that it has a hookup for your iPod/smartphone so you can play music from your device and have it play on your radio. Which I love. I use it often when I go on road trips and I am not familiar with the radio stations. It seats 5, 2 in front and 3 in the back seat. The seats have warmers, and a/c and heat work great. You can change the oil yourself and it is a v4 engine. It has great gas mileage, one time I got up to 45 miles per gallon on the interstate while I was on the road for several hours. But most of the time when I am driving on the highway I get an average between 30-35 mpg depending on what type of gasoline I put in it and my tire pressure, etc.. Which all relates to the mpg. In the city, it gets an average of 20-25 mpg which isn't bad either. I love my Subaru and I recommend it to anyone interested in a very reliable vehicle!

It has all wheel drive so its perfect for places with weather and hills!
It is great in the snow!! I feel very safe in it. I do not like the seats as I am short and the driver seat is very long so it hurts the back of my leg.

SUV perks with great handling and mpg.
It is comfortable and reliable. I like the size, it is not a huge SUV, but it still has great ground clearance, plenty of space inside, and it handles well. It does seem to burn oil pretty quickly, but is easy to maintain with preventative maintenance. Most of my issues have been related to rust, ( l live in an area with a lot of temperature range and road salt,) but it otherwise has not needed too much work.

Great for all conditions and all drivers!
I love my Subaru Crosstrek. It is sleek, sporty yet very rugged with AWD and has lots of user friendly space as well. I have traveled extensively in it and sleep in the car with the seats down which is very practical at times and with the right gear actually quite comfortable. Needless to say it is also good in conditions like mud and snow where AWD is a must. . . I have never been stuck! I highly recommend it to the adventurer or the daily commute driver. . . Awesome!

Great small crossover car that goes great in snow.
It handles really well and drives like a small car. It seems to have plenty of power though not necessarily speed. It is quiet and comfortable. It goes great in snow. Average just shy of 30 mpg. My only complaint is that it does not quite sit as high as I would like. It is really a great all around car.

This is a fantastic car and it is great for going on adventures and road trips!
The only problems I have consist of the lower engine going out in 2018. This was a terrible thing to happen as I was on a road trip too. The window washer fluid pipes get stuck very frequently. I have also had some trouble with tire pressure, and suspension but those problems were fixed quickly and easily. Other than those problems, I have not had any other problems.

Reliable and gets great gas mileage.
It is a reliable vehicle. It has 4 wheel drive which is a necessity when living in an area where it snows heavily in the winter. It has heated seating, ac. Very convenient size, not too small or large. Only complaint is that is does not have very good acceleration.

Not sure about this. Does get great mpg.
Great gas mileage. Small in size, lacks passenger space, lacks headspace, more expensive maintenance than previous cars.

Well equipped Subaru for an affordable price
The car is slightly underpowered but other than that I'm completely satisfied with the car. On the highway it averages 30 mpg and about 27 in town. Even being a cheaper model for an affordable price it still came with a 7 year warranty, GPS navigation, heated seats and back up camera. I do my own maintenance and this vehicle is easy to change oil and filters. It currently has over 80,000 miles and I've never had any problems and seems to be holding up very well. I'm over six feet tall and can easily get in and out of the vehicle with plenty of legroom while driving.

The most reliable and affordable car on the road.
If one is looking for a reliable and simple car, the Crosstrek is the perfect car. I feel that it drives and handles very well and it is inexpensive to maintain. What is the most applying about the car is the ability to be in any weather. With an all wheel drive feature, it makes it very reliable in all types of weather.

Highly recommended for all types of roads and rides.
My vehicle is very reliable with great gas mileage, handles well in snow. It is comfortable with heated seats and air conditioning. Have not had any problems with my vehicle. It handles very well and the ride is very smooth. The Bluetooth is a great feature and use the cruise control a lot.

It's a crossover vehicle and it rides like an SUV, not so much as a sedan.
Drives like a car. Great fuel economy. Comfortable. Dependable. Reliable.

Family approved Subaru for you.
I love my XV Crosstrek! It is super reliable, has great gas mileage and is comfortable for my family(3 kids). I have the mud liner for the trunk area though I should of gotten it for the floorboards too. My only issue is since my battery change all the lights on my dashboard are on and I cannot use my cruise control.

Perfect for everyday life!
This car is very spacious and really easy to drive! The car is dependable and sporty. Perfect for camping or running around town. Long trips are not a problem for this car, with the seat warmers, back up camera and having the seats fold down. There is nothing stopping this car from hauling stuff or long trips. I would highly recommend this car!

Fabulous all-terrain vehicle.
This car does not have great pick up. It is super reliable and has made the transition from warm west coast weather to Midwestern winter without issue. There could be a little more room in the driver's seat. The cup holders are a weird size. The car has high clearance and allows me to drive down poorly maintained city streets with ease. The Bluetooth disconnects whenever you start the engine. I wish it would stay connected to my phone more easily.

My car is fuel efficient and also has a lot of room for passengers.
I think it's great. It handles extremely well and is very fuel efficient. I feel that it has very good control in rainy and icy weather. I also think it is very spacious even with a full car of passengers. The standard sound system that it comes with is also very good and the interior layout is nice.

Great for one but not for mommy
Great vehicle for me as a single. Now that I have two kids I am outgrowing the vehicle, wish I had more cargo space. Also wish I didn't have leather seats, which was a part of the package in order to have the vehicle navi and satellite radio, etc. I didn't want it back then but had no choice. Definitely not practical with two little ones! Otherwise I really like my car and plan on getting a bigger subaru sometime next year

Great car. Wrong year to purchase one.
I love the style of the car. The 2013 model year was the first for the Crosstrek and I should have known to give it a year. The car IS quite comfortable although a bit shy on cargo capacity. The 2 biggest complaints I have about this 2013 Crosstrek would be the annoying level of road noise. So much so that listening to music is virtually impossible. Secondly, the car is way underpowered. And, while his does help yield very good fuel efficiency, it makes it a bear to come up to speed on the freeway or to climb any kind of hill. It really struggles with power. But having said those two serious complaints, the car has given us 6 years of trouble-free driving with (other than a couple recalls) zero maintenance problems or concerns. I have never owned a car this long. We will probably trade it soon for a newer version of the Crosstrek as I understand that the road noise and power issues have been addressed to some degree. We live in Idaho, so all wheel drive is desirable and the Crosstrek does an excellent job in snow, ice and wet pavement. All and all, an excellent car. I just bought too early and should have waited a year or two.

The high clearance is great.
The only problem I have had is the axles both needed replaced around 100,000 miles. Other than that I love my run. It handles well on the road and gets great gas mileage. I love the fact that it has a higher clearance than almost all small SUVs, therefore I do not get hung up on snow etc.

Reliability meets practicality.
My Subaru Crosstrek has been a great and most importantly, reliable car. Other than routine maintenance like oil changes, brakes, tires, etc. I have no encountered any real problems. I love the all wheel drive for winters. The ride is very comfortable. My only complaint is that the infotainment system already seems very outdated.

Wouldn't want drive any other car.
I love everything about the Subaru Crosstrek. It is one of my favorite cars that I have ever driven. I have never had any major issues with it is a great vehicle perfect for the New York weather. My Subaru has gotten me all over the country I wouldn't want any other car.

Subaru xv Crosstrek for road trips.
The vehicle displays issues with accelerating, like brake stalling or lagging even after only stopped a few seconds. The tire light always comes on even when no tire is low and it will not turn off. It is a reliable car however, I routinely take it on long road trips and it has never had any substantial performance issues.
