The Ford Motor Company and its legendary F-Series pickup trucks marked another milestone this month, celebrating production of the 40-millionth F-Series vehicle for U.S. customers. The 2022 Ford F-150 Tremor in Iconic Silver paint rolled off the line on January 26 at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan and is headed to a customer in Texas.

The Ford F-Series has been America’s best-selling pickup truck for 45 years, and its best-selling vehicle overall for 40 years. Ford commemorated the 40 millionth truck milestone with a photoshoot that paired the 14th generation 2022 F-150 alongside a first-generation 1950 Ford F-1. Ford began production of its F-Series trucks 75 years ago, in 1947, with the Ford F-1, F-2, F-3, and F-4 hitting the market in 1948.

Ford sold 787,422 F-Series trucks in 2020, and by December 2021, the F-Series pickups were again confirmed as America’s top-selling vehicle for the 40th straight year, and the top-selling truck for the 45th consecutive year.
