If You've accidentally tripped the anti-theft system in Your 2012 Ram 1500 or 2500, You'll need to take a few steps to reset the system. Occasionally, removing the negative terminal from the battery for 15 minutes or longer can reset the system, but most faults will persist. Therefore, You'll need to complete the procedure outlined below. First, try exiting the car with all doors closed and windows up. Lock the car using the driver's side door lock, and get at least 10 feet from the car. Wait for fifteen or more minutes and unlock the door. Alternatively, You can try holding the panic button for at least five seconds to reset the immobilizer, then pressing the lock button twice and wait ten feet from Your car for ten minutes. Then press the unlock button twice. You should be able to start the vehicle this way.

To reset the anti-theft system in your 2012 dodge ram depress the key fob's panic button for five seconds before pressing the lock button twice standing 10 feet away from the vehicle. Follow by depressing the unlock button twice and your security should be reset.
