The 2014 Ram 1500 has electric power steering, so luckily You'll avoid all the issues with power steering fluid leaks, power steering pump failure, and air in the fluid. However, it comes with a whole host of new issues, which can manifest more suddenly and catastrophically (at speed). On the other hand, it seems as if these issues happen less commonly, so it's a fair trade off in the minds of many. Typically, if You're going to see a failure, it's going to be the EPS module. It's possible that You'll have intermittent power steering loss, but it commonly happens all at once -- which can really be quite dangerous if You're traveling at highway speeds. Some drivers report this failure at high mileage, but an unsettling number have reported it at 50,000 or fewer.

Mine just did at 41,323 miles on 6/21/2022. But luckily not when driving. $3,295.00 repair bill and two weeks delay to get part????
I baught my truck new with 50 miles on it. In 2014 ..... To date 7-8-2023 she has only 26,226 miles ....power steering went out that day all i did was start it up and put in reverse. Fayetteville Dodge NC want's $4900.00 before taxes and will take 7 to 10+ days to get part. EVERYBODY call NHTSA and report .. Ask for a recall on it.1-8883274236 WHY SHOULD WE PAY IF IT"S A DODGE PROBLEM FROM THE START

My power steering started getting stiff. Normally when I made a sharp turn the truck would go back to straight all by itself, if I let go the wheel. I sprayed Deep Creep on the universal joint, just above the steering box. Problem solved. My next step is to replace the universal joint.

If a person is smart they will drill and tap all U-Joints and put grease certs in and keep them greased. Better safe then sorry Factory sealed is a joke waiting to just fail And with regular maintenance they will last longer and be more fail safe

I am having the same issue, cold weather only when it happens. Once the truck warms up I can turn it off and restart it and problem goes away. Sometimes takes multiple restarts before I regain power steering. Thinking it could be a relay issue!

My 2014 Ram just clicked over 50K miles. Everything was fine yesterday driving home at 80 mph on the turnpike. This morning, turn the key and immediately get a flashing steering wheel with an exclamation point and...no power steering at all! So, the module shorted out while the truck was turned off? This needs to be recalled immediately!!!
