What kind of gas does a 2019 Nissan Altima take?

All configurations of the 2019 Nissan Altima require the use of regular unleaded gasoline, with octane 87 oR89. While it's technically possible to use higher octane gasoline (such as premium 91 or better), there is no practical advantage to doing this -- in the long term, the only thing You're really doing is flushing money down the drain. Both Nissan and other vehicular agencies agree that there's no advantage to using higher octane gasoline than recommended. However, there are disadvantages to using lower octane gasolines, such as engine knocking which can lead to catastrophic damage. While there aren't many options below an 87 octane, it's important to note that neither the 2.5L or the 3.5L variant of the Altima is capable of using FlexFuel.
