A striking number of model years of the Ram 1500 are not equipped with a cabin air filter, despite it being a desirable addition. If, however, You are equipped (as is the case in the newest model years), You'll be able to find the cabin air filter behind a horizontal piece of black plastic, which You will need to remove the glove box to access. If You're not fitted with one, it is technically possible to install an aftermarket cabin air filter, but this is by and large not recommended. The cost of going through a professional is not quite worth it, and the risk of doing it Yourself is likewise not worth it, as You'll be destroying parts of Your HVAC system.

The dodge Ram 1500 cabin air filter location can either be under the dashboard behind the glove box, or it can sometimes be under the hood of the vehicle near the back.
Yeah, this Nick guy is clueless. I have a 2013 Tradesman (bottom line truck) and I installed a cabin air filter in it in about 1/2 hour...that INCLUDED removing the glove box to gain access. The location to install is virtually marked out on the duct work leaving very little chance of making a mistake. Kit cost all of $40 and your wife probably has all the tools you'd need.

Unfortunately nick appears to be correct I have a 16 ram and there's no cabinet filter for it which makes no sense.

My ac stopped blowing air because of my two dogs hair being sucked in and onto the evaporator completely blocking it. After removing the fan I was able to get a small tube attached to a shop vac and taped it to a endoscope so I could see everything blocking. After about 30 minutes of cleaning the evaporator I cut inside the shape of the filter access and installed a filter retrofit kit. Probably around an hour and half to do it all and now have air like new!!!! Well worth the effort.

The tol answer guy is someone who has no clue.its an easy install and the kit is 35 dollars.there is no destruction in hvac parts.
