Very practical economical car.
Love the size of the Impreza. Good gas mileage. Easy to drive & park.
accountCircle Jessica M
Very reliable all wheel drive.
Dislike there is no sunroof. Like that it is offered in manual transmission. Like that it has hands free feature.

SUBARUS ARE QUALITY CARS.
I LOVE MY VEHICLE. I HATE THAT THE MODELS ARE BECOMING MORE AND MORE PLASTIC.
accountCircle Bridget B
Great four wheel drive and premium features.
I own a 2017 Subaru Impreza premium. The main thing I love about it is the four wheel drive, especially in New England. It handles very well in snow and icy conditions. It has some great features, such as heated seats, sunroof, touch screen radio display. Also has android auto to hook phone directly up to display screen, as well as regular Bluetooth. Only issues I have run into are the presets sometimes won't display, and car pulls to the right slightly over 70mph.

Summary of car is really good for all types of drivers.
Vehicle drives fine, nothing wrong, very smooth, never had problems, very comfortable, has backup cams, perfect for long rides, fuel efficient, has Bluetooth, multiple ports, has enough space inside, seat warmers, good size trunk, best car possible yep.
accountCircle Kelsey M
That is is safe, comfortable, and a good quality car.
I like that my car has all wheel drive and is top rated for safety. On top of that there are very few blind spots. It's a comfortable ride and gets pretty good fuel efficiency. I dislike that it does not have good pick-up speed.

Subaru Impreza; a whole lot of car in a trim little package.
I love my Impreza. We bought it right before our daughter was born. The all wheel drive is a must for us in New England but I didn't want a big SUV or to have to spend over $20,000 I got the hatchback so we can put the seats down to fit in large items, or even for sleeping in. It's a fun little sports car that gets great gas mileage and can handle the New England winters.

Love my Subaru Impreza! Perfect for my family.
The Subaru Impreza is comfortable, roomy, and sporty. This combination is perfect for my lifestyle. It fits my 60 lb puppy, husband, and I perfectly for road trips. I would recommend this car to anyone. I get around 27 miles to the gallon primarily driving in the city / commuting.

Overall not a top choice car
So when I first purchased the car, the bushings were rusted and my brake light switch also went out, not allowing me to back out. It has very poor acceleration and the sound system sounds quite muddy. It's also made of very cheap plastic, I accidentally hit something in the freeway and it damaged my entire front end. I do not recommend this car at all, you would be better with a Nissan.
accountCircle Carolynn M
The most important thing to know about the Subaru Impreza is that it is extremely safe, and will stick to the road in most weather conditions.
I really like the safety ratings that Subaru has as a whole, and the car has all wheel drive, which is great for the weather where I live. I do not like the lack of power. I like that it is a hatchback, and there's plenty of room for things our regular 4-door can't hold.
accountCircle Chad A
I enjoy the Bluetooth stereo.
There is nothing wrong with the vehicle it is reliable and comfortable. It is safe and has features that can make it desirable to some. My biggest problem is I am not a huge fan of cars and prefer trucks. The Impreza does have room for a 10 point buck, of you lay the seats down. For a small family car it works well and a car seat does fit comfortably in the back.

Subaru Impreza is not a reliable car at all.
My Subaru Impreza has a electrical issue that has not been able to be fixed. Because of this problem sometimes the ac does not work, to the widows will not go up or down. Also on top of that, the car is very space limited, and the seats are not very comfortable, they are very stiff.
accountCircle Danielle A
Uncomfortable Subaru Impreza.
My car is very claustrophobic. The seats are extremely uncomfortable. I only bought it because I was young and needed something with good gas mileage, which it has. I average about 30.5 miles to the gallon. It is a beast in the snow which is important where I live. I definitely trust it enough to put my kid in it.
accountCircle Cindy L
My vehicle is a good car to start of with.
Vehicle is very reliable after having it for 1 year no car problems with overheating, brakes, electrical no problems. However it's not a gas saver, Bluetooth loses signal from time to time.features are very straight forward nothing sophisticated or different from other vehicles. Overall it's an okay car but reliable.

I love my Subaru Impreza!
I love my vehicle. It gets me from place a to place b. It is very reliable. The seats are adjustable and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this car. The lane changing warnings are also incredibly helpful. The car heating works amazingly, the car heats up incredibly quickly and allows me to stay warm. It is a small car but can fit a lot. Seats 5.
accountCircle Michelle M
An uninspiring but very reliable car.
The Impreza sits so low to the ground I've, had to have the front bumper replaced because of the damage. It's not an overly exciting car to drive, but I drive about 400 miles a week and I've not had any problems, so it's has been a reliable car and the gas mileage is descent. A lot of the driving I do it highway and the acceleration is just okay. The feature I like the best is the standard all wheel drive, it great in the snow and rain.

Best car I have ever had! Will buy again!
Honestly the best car I have ever had. Very little issues or problems. I love that the dealership sets up maintenance milestones to keep the vehicle running smoothly. Drives great in the winter with snow and ice. Heated seats are a must! Easy to drive and maintain. Highly recommended!

Great car, some Bluetooth connectivity issues.
I love my car! It is safe, great on gas mileage, and has plenty of space for what I need. I love the 4 wheel drive. My only complaint is the Bluetooth system - I have had connectivity issues and my music does not update on the screen. The screen stays on the first song played in the car.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Emma R.

What I love most about the car is the hatchback. It makes transporting groceries and other various objects easy. Having a vanity cover for the trunk is a good idea. I also like how smooth the drive is, and how easy the handling on the car is. I have had the car for about 6 months now and I have had no problems with it.

likeFilled Nolan P.

Great gas mileage. Very comfy ride. Sporty feel. Safe, all wheel drive. Beautiful looking car. Easily modified. Vary basic. Poor speaker quality. No seat warmers. Not too fast. Plenty of trunk space. Perfect car for new teen drivers.

likeFilled Jaclyn R.

There is a good resale value and high safety ratings. I like the heated seats and rear backup camera as well. It has Bluetooth connection which I enjoy for phone calls and playing music. It is overall a good performing car.

likeFilled Connie T.

Good for snowy areas and icy roads. Well known for dependability. Before moving here, I researched online to find out what type of car was best for this area and the Subaru was in top in every top online car comparisons.

likeFilled Brianna E.

A pro would definitely be that you do not need to fill up gas very often as it lasts awhile. It also only requires regular gas which is cheaper. It drives very smooth and you can drive it in harsh weather as well.

likeFilled Brandon M.

The 4 wheel drive is fantastic in the New England climate. The Bluetooth, touch screen, and backup camera that come standard are great for the base model. The gas mileage is great and in the 4 years of owning the vehicle, I have had to put very little money into repairs outside of standard maintenance.

likeFilled Courtney V.

It handles well in the snow. It has not needed much maintenance other than tires and oil changes. We trust it to take on road trips. It is fairly comfortable for those trips as well. The ac and heating work well (this was an issue in my old car).

likeFilled Zoe S.

I like most everything about my car. The only con I can think of is that the Bluetooth takes a while to connect to my phone, and if I am using Spotify, it never changes the display from the first song, so it is never accurate.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Emma R.

I do love the car, but it is sometimes a little too low to the ground for my liking. I sometimes wish that I had a car with a higher suspension so that it is not as much of a struggle to go into and out of the car.

dislikeFilled Nolan P.

Not very fast with just a four cylinder engine. No leather or heated seats. Very basic car. It is an automatic not a manual. Very touchy on the breaks and the gas. Poor speaker quality. Bluetooth has issues staying connected to iPhone XR.

dislikeFilled Jaclyn R.

I do not have many cons for the car. I got the basic package. Perhaps the upgraded one would have features other people prefer. My only con is I wish the seat warmers stays warmer longer than they do.

dislikeFilled Connie T.

I bought a used model and the lot only had a manual transmission for sale in their lot when I went there. But, since I have had them before over the years, it wasn't a deal-breaker. However, only three months after purchase, the clutch and transmission needed to be replaced.

dislikeFilled Brianna E.

Honestly there is not many cons. If you do not take care of it then the repairs will cost you a lot of money but it is a great car for it is price. There definitely are better cars out there but it is a great starter car as well.

dislikeFilled Brandon M.

The vehicle is on the small side and there is not a lot of power in the motor. The sound system can be lacking and gets crackly when songs with a lot of bass are played. When playing music using Bluetooth, the screen does not display the music being played on Spotify. The Pandora app worked correctly for the first few months and I have been unable to sync it to the car for the last 3 years.

dislikeFilled Courtney V.

It is slow to shift from reverse into drive and it is slow to get going. If I need to speed up quickly to avoid someone else, there's nothing I can do even if I have the pedal pushed all the way down. The back window is kind of hard to see out of because it is angled so the snow does not fall off very well but there's no wiper blade back there.

dislikeFilled Zoe S.

I just wrote the cons of the vehicle on the last page. About the Bluetooth taking a long time to connect and then the display reading incorrectly after the first song is over. Like it will play the first song and the display will tell you what it is, but then it never changes.

Is The 2016 Subaru Impreza A Good Value?

The cost when we bought it was around $30,000. Personally, I think that's too much. We pay over $400 a month on car payments.
Rebekah S.
I am a little unsure of the original cost. Have had for awhile. I think the cost was around twenty thousand. A very good price for a wonderful vehicle.
Rebecca B.
It cost less than $20,000. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. I imagine you could pay more and get a sunroof and maybe a deluxe package with heated seats.
Kristin W.
I think it was a very reasonable price to pay for the reliability you get with a Subaru. With a reasonable amount of care the Subaru will go for hundreds of miles.
Kelly T.
$18,000. It's not the best value but it gets the job done. Again, I just don't like the fact that most of the cosmetic parts are cheaply put together.
Joseph B.
I do not remember exactly what the price was, but it was definitely one of the less expensive options I looked at and it was by far my favorite. It has excellent gas mileage and Subarus are known to... Read More
