Good Car and Fun to Drive.
It is a turbo engine with great pick-up. I get about 27 gas miles. The tires were expensive to replace. My mechanic says it is more expensive for all VW parts, but the car has needed little repair, only the usual maintenance. I really love my car and smile whenever I get in to drive.

VW beetle love: the car that gets me where I need to be.
This car is amazing! I have been driving my black VW beetle for the last 6 years and I have had a smile on my face since day one. It handles the road well, is stylish and has great gas mileage. I can count on my car to get me where I need to be! I will be driving this car for a long time to come!

Such a fun car to drive!!
Love my beetle turbo diesel with sunroof. I get fantastic mileage - about 32 mpg around town and 40+ on the highway. I bought it used (only one owner) almost 2 years ago and have not had any mechanical issues. It is very reliable and so fun to drive! It is my fave car in my whole life - and I have had many cars!!

It is very fuel efficient.
I love its fuel efficiency, its retro style and color. The only thing I would change is its rear view mirror, it could if been a bit bigger.

Super fun and comfortable to drive
I love my car! It is super cute and still handles well in the snow. The one thing that is a huge hassle is that it is just one big blind spot. With the top up there is almost no way to safely back out of a parking space. Even using all mirrors and looking out the windows, it is really hard to see. Other than that one thing, I love this car.

Unique and very fun to drive.
Very fast and looks great. So unique and I always get a lot of compliments on it. Only thing I would change is the backseat, it is not very comfortable.

Reliable, small, fun car.
My car is a small 2 door VW beetle. It is perfect for just me and my boyfriend. I cant have 3 full grown people in my car because everyone would feel squished. But I love it for myself. I love the Audio system and the navigation system. The sunroof is an added bonus. The mileage is also good, I have to fill up once a week but I have about an hour commute every day, sometimes more.

The 2013 upgrade from a 2008.
I absolutely love my beetle! I bought it used in 2016 and it has been a great replacement to my old 2008 beetle. The navigation system is so helpful! The design is beautiful and I love my upgraded sound system. The convertible is perfect! The seats are comfortable and I do not mind taking a road trip in my beetle!

Windows Freeze in Winter
2013 Fender Edition, 5 speed. Didn't drive it in the winter for the 1st 5 years. Then the first time I did the windows were frozen and I couldn't get in. Zero support from VW. Won't even acknowledge it's a problem. Yet quick search online shows it's a massive problem. I am getting rid of it and buying a Mazda.

2013 VW beetle convertible: nothing but a headache.
In 15 months of owning this vehicle, I have had the engine replaced twice (once because the timing chain snapped, a second time because they did not clear the metal shavings from the timing chain snapping and it eroded the engine causing it to seize up). I have also had the rims replaced once because they cracked. The tires wear unevenly even after alignment and balancing even though I drive on paved, city roads 95% of the time. Overall, this car is terrible!

VW beetle windows in winter?
The vehicle bought is a 2013 VW beetle. It has never developed any issues whatsoever. I bought the car used with 52, 000 miles on it and it has run smooth as possible. The only issue that I could imagine would have to be sometimes when I drive the transmission does not downshift the car naturally as it should when I slow down, because when I slow down and speed up again, I catch myself in 6th gear at 30mph. That is not good on the transmission or the rest of the car! Other than that it has never developed any serious problems. The features I like most about the car is the interior. Tan, leather and heated seats makes quite the impression. Beetles have always been known to be a lady’s car, but personally as a male I enjoy riding in it. Its small, quick, can hang curves well with the such wide tires it has, and it looks stylish as well. I have had the VW for about 2 years and have added on about 30, 000 miles. I drive a lot, but it has held up very nicely. The only thing I hate about the car are the windows in the winter. To open the door, the window goes down a little bit first, but in the winter when the windows are frozen and your trying to get into your car to defrost it… its difficult to do when you do not want to break your window. I have had this issue before, but not always.

The trunk open up with the Volkswagen logo in the back.
My car was running fun for the first two years but after I've noticed that it tends to jump a lot for no reason but no mechanic ever finds anything wrong with it. I've been having problem with the doors not locking or the key never being in range. I've heard that transmission is usually a problem with these cars.

It is extremely spacious. I can fit 7 Rubbermaid totes inside.
It gets fantastic gas mileage and is great for road trips. Everyone always underestimates how much you can actually fit inside a big! However I have had quite a few problems and the repairs are always expensive and it is very hard to find people who will work on them.

2013 Volkswagen beetle review.
The driver side window is unaligned, the sunroof snapped, blew a tired, got into small fender bender and the whole front end crumbled while the other car had a small scratch. Just barley recently found out there’s been a lot of recalls on the car. It is very comfortable, fast, and good on gas.

Cute car that is great on gas, but little!
I love my beetle so much. It is great on gas, pretty quick and really cute. However, I dislike how small it is but I knew that going into it. The other thing I have noticed about Volkswagen in general is that the steering wheels tend to fade really quick and start to peel. My dad owned a Jetta and his did this right away so I put a cover on mine and it is still doing it. Overall though it is the perfect little car to get you from point A to point B quickly and efficiently. And in style!

The beetle is pretty good.
It is a really dependable car, not a lot of places to put your items. If you put anything on the passenger's seat it continuously rings the seatbelt alarm. It is a great starter car. Also it is really good on gas mileage when you are driving along distance.

The steering wheel and dashboard color matches the outside paint color, yellow.
I love my car. The gas pedal accelerates very easily, and she's the perfect size for me. I wish that the car displayed the title/artist of the song playing on the screen when I am using Bluetooth, but I am just happy she has Bluetooth. I occasionally notice that she has traction issues with her tires, but this seems expected because she is a used car.

I love my beetle! It is a midsize car.
I absolutely love my car! It is got heated seats, a sunroof, a cool locking feature on the handle, the ability to raise the seat up, it is a hatchback and has tons of room in the back, Bluetooth, hands free driving, has a lot of get up and go and has great gas mileage.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Kate S.

This vehicle is fuel efficient, has low end tork, minimal body roll, and turbo feel. Also it is a diesel coupe! I also like how reliable it is. It is also cheap to service. Most of all, I like that I have control over it drives. It can be smooth or quick.

likeFilled Kristina R.

Pro- very fast. It feels safe to drive. The sound system is amazing and comes with a stock subwoofer. Awesome sunroof. Lots of space in the hatchback. It is super cute. The speakers light up at night and also change colors. Bluetooth. The heated seats are great.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Kate S.

It is not a convertible, I'd prefer to have one. The Volkswagen dieselgate scandal has lowered its values. Diesel fuel is expensive, and although I get good efficiency, it costs a lot to fill up. It also does not have enough interior space.

dislikeFilled Kristina R.

Some of the cons are- backseat is pretty cramped but it is expected with a two door vehicle. With this newer body style they didn't bring the door frame all the way around the window. So in the winter if there's sleet or ice your windows freeze shut and you cannot get into the car when this happens because there is a feature where the windows must crack before the door can be opened. It is a big problem.

Is The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle A Good Car?

Yes, it drives nicely and I enjoy that it comes in a manual transmission option. I like the sunburst over the globe box and the lights in the speakers.
Peregrine A.
Yes the gas mileage is good and it is really roomy. The seats are easy to clean. The engine is good.!

It’s okay. I have it as a backup car but it is very small and cramped. Good price that’s why I got it

How Reliable Is The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle?

So far I have not had any problems to speak of. I currently need to take it in for a tune up, but even so it is reliable and drives well.
Peregrine A.
The battery dies if the lights are left on like dead has to be replaced died. Which is really expensive. There also not made anymore so the basic parts now are super expensive.
Hayley B.
Reliability I would give it a 8/10. It has gave me minor problems but nothing to major were it broke down while in use or anything
Beverly W.
The only problems are the small back windshield, how relatively low it sits to the ground. Some other problems that come to mind is the convertible being difficult to use while on the go.
Sarah B.

Is The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle A Good Value?

I bought mine used and because it is a manual transmission they had dropped the price, also it does not use a lot of gas or anything. So, yeah, I would say that yes it is a good value.
Peregrine A.
I am paying $13,000 and it is a good number for the condition of my car. It could be cheaper sense beetles are discontinued.
Hayley B.
I don't know the retail value of what it goes for. It was a gift to me and was purchased used for a good deal
Emily J.
It cost 10000 at the time and had 70000 miles on it. I think it was a great value because it’s still in great condition and has very few problems.
