It is a very reliable car that's great for work, school or travel.
I love the great gas mileage I get on my vehicle. I travel a lot and my car is great on gas and wear and tear. Plus, there were a lot of features that were standard on the car that I just love like satellite radio, heated leather seats and a sunroof.

Comfortable drive smoothly and powerful.
I don’t have any issue about my passat. If I have problem the computer will tell me what it need. If you see any orange light come on pay attention!! Take to the mechanic shop and they will take care of that and you don’t have any problem.Take care of your car.

That this vehicle uses premium gas.
Like the room inside the vehicle, driving the vehicle is easy, the look of the vehicle and how I can fill the back with all sort of things since it is a Passat wagon. What I do not like is the repair costs even a oil change is more than most cars and it uses premium gas only.

Economic and beautiful car
No problems, everything works perfectly, very economical and easy to clean, easy to drive and control and it has enough space. The color is beautiful it is black and we got it with a good price. The gas is not expensive and we can save money using economic car like that

My car has made it to Tennessee and back, as well as Florida with no problems.
Clock spring is broken and needs a recall, car overall is a great car. Gets good mileage and good for long trips. Does have airbag issues which I'm not sure how common that is. Comfort Wise the car is great, it has an in dash touch screen Bluetooth and phone, all black leather. Very comfy and roomy on the inside. Headlights are very difficult to change on it and parts can be expensive.

Comfortable car and easy maintenance
It is reliable, and easy maintenance car, it has space and saves on gas, the car rides smoothly and feels light. Easy to clean, oil changes are easy to do anywhere. Overall the car is real nice and comfortable. I would recommend this car to others. It is also good if you have kids, spacey for everyone, love the backup cameras the most

VW passat 70,000 miles and still going strong.
None. My first real car that I bought that wasn't a hand me down or a junket. Had no problems with it so far, engine - brakes - nothing. The oil changes are usually more expensive because it is German / something about it is different so it costs more but I’d rather pay a little extra for an oil change than have it break down and buy a new engine. Love this car though, comfy, spacious, smooth, and haven't had any problems yet and I am at 70.000 miles.

My vehicle is amazing and one of the best cars I have had in a long time.
My car does really well in the road. I drive a Volkswagen passat and had the same vehicle for over 5 years. It is excellent on gas and I love the leather seats. The car for only take premium gas but the performance of the car is worth the gas prices. Also, the car is amazing in the mileage. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone that loves foreign cars, loves cars that is great in gas, and loves cars with good mileage.

My Volkswagen is unreliable.
My vehicle has been very unreliable. There’s been many issues with the engine. If I take it to a mechanic for one issue, another issue arises. I have had to replace the gas tank, fuel pump, oil lines, battery, and practically the transmission. It has its good days but overall, I have been unsatisfied with how it works and I would love nothing more than a new vehicle that can actually get me places.

One interesting thing about my car is that the steering wheel is easy to grab.
The radio is not that modern but it drives smooth. The car is very low and on the smaller side, which can make it hard to be seen by bigger vehicles. The leather seats clean easily, but they get very warm because they are black. The back windows do not roll all the way down, handy for children.

Passat 2010 review. Great car. Water pump & a timing chain.
I loved the car, but this years engine has had problems with the water pump and the timing chain. Otherwise I love this vehicle! The interior has lasted forever. Everything has stayed in perfect working condition for me and I have 175k miles on it. The turbo is also a fun feature.

There's plenty of space for those that don't want to go for a full SUV or van.
It's a VW Passat Komfort Wagon. Nice and roomy, easy to transport my dog and bikes. It's not very fun to drive though.

Good for everyday driver, not a high mileage vehicle.
Volkswagen makes very high performing vehicles. The maintenance on them because of this is more expensive, and any repairs will be very spendy. Other than that if it is your everyday driver and you travel only a short distance they have little issues. But I put 70,000 miles on in 3 years and I started having to replace more, wheel bearings, springs, router, breaks, seals etc.

Great car, but has troubles sometimes.
I love my car but I frequently have engine troubles including coolant leaks, ignition troubles, electronic malfunctions, water sensor malfunctions, and electronic emergency parking brake errors. It is a comfortable car, though, and has all of the bells and whistles I like. It is fast too.

Timing chain issues
Purchased this vehicle in 2015 when it was 5 years old with 30k miles. I didn't have many complaints besides it being bad in snow but that was to be expected. In 2017 it decided not to start anymore. The timing chain broke. I had it towed to a Volkswagen dealer who told me this was an issue with this particular year and model. They (volkswagen) would pay part of it and I had to pay the rest even though it was an issue with the way it was made by the company. 1600 dollars and 4 months later I got my vehicle back. The dealership wouldn't give me a rental because I did not purchase the car there and it took them 4 months to finish my car due to the overwhelming amount of 2010 passats (which I noticed seemed to all be silver sedans) they had to replace timing chains on. My car is now at 91k miles. It sounds a bit rough but is still running decent. I guess my complaint is more about Volkswagen and less about my passat.

2012 Volkswagen passat is a great car.
My 2012 white Volkswagen passat squeaks now... But it is strong and it made it to Florida and back within 5 days (from Connecticut). It has pretty good gas mileage and comfortable seats and it will last you a really long time if you actually take care of it.

Volkswagens run forever and hold their value. It is a great car.
I have had this car for eight years and it is still very stylish and is dependable.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Kressa B.

Fuel efficient, has a lot of power for fuel efficiency. It is very comfortable and quiet both on the highway and driving through town. They look really stylish and have good weight to get you around in moderate snowfall ( as long as the snow is not up to the bottom of the car). They come with a good warranty if you buy them new.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Kressa B.

Everything's about this car is expensive. The repairs and the maintenance all down to the daily things like gas and oil are all going to cost you more with this car. Parts are more difficult to find especially oil. You can only buy one type for the turbo engine and it cannot be found everywhere. It is a good car for low mileage driving but not meant for long trips and commutes frequently. I put about 70,000 miles on this car in 3 years and I have had to replace seals, springs, breaks, engine parts, tires, I have had to do a costly repairs because of oil leaks and engine failure.

When it hit its 8 year mark, it started to have some problems that required expensive fixes. Random things like the shifting gear going bad, and the airbags having a recall.

Yes this 2010 VW Passat is very reliable. I am not afraid of it breaking down. It’s need little to no maintenance. Nothing more than getting new tires.
