Grand caravan come check it out.
It is a wonderful SUV for a big family. It is very spacious. It is alright on gas. It drives smoothly and the brakes are great on it as well. I think you would be very satisfied with this vehicle. Cost me about $50 to fill it up weekly. I think if you are on the fence about it definitely give it a go!

Great van for a great price! Family friendly!
Great family friendly van. Gets great gas mileage and very dependable for the price. I highly recommend this for businesses and large families. Cannot get better than this van. I personally love the stow & go storage under the seats for extra room. I love that you can fold the seats down when needed too.

I love my vehicle! I swore I'd never drive a minivan and now I'll never drive anything else! It is like a luxury vehicle! I have had no problems with it! The storage is amazing and fits our family perfectly! The gas mileage is amazing! It makes vacations a breeze!

Excellent gas mileage overall.
Has second row captains seats which is a must have with a third row. Plenty of trunk space. Two glove boxes also help with storage. Sufficient amount of cup holders. I went from a large SUV to this minivan and you just cannot beat the excellent gas mileage this vehicle offers.

We love our 2019 dodge grand caravan.
We have 4 kids and it is a great vehicle for families. Even with all the kids in the van we still have plenty of room for the folded wagon or stroller or bags. It drives very nicely and is not too bad on gas. The seats are very easy to put up and down.

Great functional vehicle without $$$ bling
Purchased this vehicle in Dec./19 and drove it to Mexico in Jan./20 with only 1000kms on it. Lots of room for the stuff and our large dog. Very comfortable driving 12 hours/day. Lots of power and great brakes driving in the mountains. My wife refinishes furniture... Its amazing how much stuff fits in it! Dining room table and 8 chairs.. No problem! Customer's with other make's need to make multiple trips or can't fit much it in at all. I had one of the first mini-vans in 1984... You've come a long way baby!

It has three rows and the two rows fold down.
I love my van, it is very roomy, it has store in go seats. All seats are comfortable. It also has a lot of space to put things, it has a thing you can use to charge a cell phone. I like the two glove compartments and storage space and a big trunk area.

Avoid dodge journeys and caravans at all costs . Still haven’t addressed the numerous brake issues from ten years ago

Not recommended for a family. Poor quality, drivability. Very poor powertrain.
The transmission has a ghost problem. It slips and jerks but no dodge dealership can figure out what’s wrong. The engine is undersized to have a full load the gas mileage is way lower. The eco button worst idea ever. It does nothing but screw your whole vehicle up. It rides like a lumber wagon. I thought vans were supposed to ride nice. It is a family vehicle. The passenger side rear door came off the hinges almost hitting my middle 5 yr old daughter. They have no safety feature that stops the rear sliding doors to stop when they feel pressure. The drivers side rear sliding door has closed on my 5 and 10 yr old and also my wife. It squished them in and had to be forcibly pulled back by me.

BProblems with van 1st month of driving. No pick up and slow excelling. Feels like I am driving a toy. Service light came on around 4990 miles so I took it in to be serviced with oil change. Reliable, low-cost transportation for the whole family.
Trim level leaves a lot to be desired. Not having apple CarPlay as a feature is a major let-down. Basic fleet vehicle. Excellent interior space, gas mileage in relation to size and very comfortable for long drives. Maintenance free except for routine, expected preventive maintenance. Easy to get in and out of after a long day at work.

A family car for those on the go.
The car is great on gas. We take it on all of our long road trips. Texas to West Virginia; Texas to North Carolina and Texas to Florida. We all were comfortable and never felt crowded. Even with the amount of luggage that we had. The amount of gas used for all trip was very reasonable. I use the vehicle a lot is the city. I full tank of gas will last me roughly a week. Comfortably fits 3 adults, a rear facing car seat, forward facing car seat and a high back booster. I have the basic model, no automatic door openings. I wish I would have gotten the vehicle with that. My only other complaint is that the vehicle sits low to the ground. Not really an issue with the car itself. I am just used to having trucks. Overall it is a good and reliable vehicle.
accountCircle Trista D
Not that great my wants were not met. Could have done better.
The camera is not good quality whatsoever. The Bluetooth connection is way to much of a chore to set up. Slow response for changing music. I do not like how there is no sensors that beep when you are close to an object. The sliding doors get stuck often and are slow to open and close. I do like that with the key fob you can open the doors and back hatch. I do not like that it is not a push start. I personally had a 2019 Kia Sedona and I loved it compared to this model. I would not buy another.

What Do Critics Say About the Dodge Grand Caravan?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Grand Caravan is past its prime as time has marched on, with average owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Grand Caravan at 4/5, praising the stow ‘n go seating system, but doesn’t like the cheap interior materials.

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan Have?

Common problems found on the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan include check engine lights, broken door handles, along with some relatively rare transmission failures. Overall, the problems are a bit worse than some other minivans on the market, although they are affordable to fix if something does break.

Check engine lights are the most widespread complaint from Grand Caravan owners in the first 25,000 miles. There are a lot of reasons a check engine light may turn on, although the most common is simply a loose or damaged gas cap. Other reasons there may be a light include sensor failures, or loose connections. Using an OBD-II scan tool will help you determine the source of the problem.

Broken door handles have also been reported by some 2019 Grand Caravan owners at around 30,000 miles. The plastic linkage in the door handle snaps off when it’s used often. Replacing the door handle assembly costs around $150, depending on local labor rates.

Rare transmission failures also show up on some 2019 Grand Caravan models at around 70,000 miles. If a transmission does fail you can either rebuild it for around $1,800, or replace the entire assembly which costs over $3,000.

There are three recalls on the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, which is similar to other minivans. The most serious recall covers a fuel pump gasket fuel leak, which can increase the risk of a fire. Dodge will replace the assembly on affected vans for free.

How Long Will the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan can last around 200,000 miles, which is around 100,000 less than the top-rated Toyota Sienna. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to many other minivans on the market, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $471 per year.

As a used 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the ignition switch for $200, wheel hubs costing $425, as well as the liftgate motor which costs $750.

accountCircle Holly K

I have only had my new car for two weeks, but I believe it will be reliable. I haven't had any problems with it as of yet. The only thing that could be improved so far is its ability to connect to Bluetooth. It takes it a little while, which I do not like.

accountCircle Karen N

It is reliable so far anyway. . The only problem is there is a lot of road noise and it kind of rattles in the back on roads in town.

accountCircle Mar y Jo L

I have had no problems at all since I purchased it. It starts right up in below zero weather, there is a dual control heating system so the passengers in the back can control their own temperature.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is good with a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen. There are optional more powerful stereo system upgrades available. Unfortunately the Grand Caravan does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Safety technology is worse than other modern minivans, only offering a standard rearview camera. The only optional advanced safety features available are rear parking sensors.

Is the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan a Good Value?

Yes, the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan is a decent value since it’s more affordable than many other minivans. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $25,900 to $28,279, making it cheaper than a Honda Odyssey or Chrysler Pacifica. When new, the price range was $27,040 to $32,540. Depreciation is worse than average, losing about 12% of its current value per year.

What are the Different Models of the Dodge Grand Caravan?

The fifth generation of the Dodge Grand Caravan came out in 2008, and was discontinued after the 2020 model year when Dodge moved to build more SUV models.

2014: Entry-level crew model discontinued.

The 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan is an average minivan, it’s a decent choice for shoppers on a budget, although it’s very outdated compared to other choices on the market.

The Toyota Sienna is a popular competitor, which is available for around $5,000 more. Safety technology is much better in the Toyota Sienna, while the Dodge Grand Caravan offers more responsive steering. We recommend the Toyota Sienna since they last much longer, making it worth the extra money.

The Chrysler Pacifica is another minivan available for around $3,500 more. Interior materials are more luxurious in the Chrysler Pacifica, while the Dodge Grand Caravan has a more durable interior which holds up better to kids. We recommend the Chrysler Pacifica since the extra technology is worth the money.

Yes, it is a good vehicle. It comfortably seats 7 and it drives well. It also has nice features, like backseat controlled air conditioning, stow and go seats, a great sound system, and automatic doors.

Yes it had a lot of room and I like the stow and go option. It rides smoothly and has a lot of newer features such as Bluetooth adaptability.

accountCircle Mar y Jo L

I love it. I have the model where there is a 2 person bench instead of captains seats in the middle. I still have my stow and go and the bench is completely removable.. This allows easier access to the back seat. The seats are comfortable the ride is smooth. There is enough technology without feeling overwhelmed. I feel confident and safe in this vehicle.

This is a great family vehicle. It has plenty of room for the kids. The TV is a big plus, especially for longer trips. The ability to completely hide the middle row captain seats is another plus. It is not great on gas, but that is to be expected with a vehicle this size. It is flex fuel capable though, which is good. All in all, it is a great family car for the price. An unbelievable ramp van with many options for any disabled person.
Very nice paint a rich deep red. The interior is very comfortable with leather and cloth seats. It has a very tight turning radius. Automatic rear and side doors.Make it easy to use them when carrying different objects. The controls and balanced frame make it easy to drive. Very comfortable seating makes it a dream to ride in. Tinted windows help with driving in bright sunlight or at night on a wet roadway. Many cell phone charge plug ins and phone answering through your components made it safe to answer your calls. You can also place phone calls by voice. Hands off control. I am a disabled veteran and have a left leg amputated below the knee. The van has an automatic ramp release with a wheelchair lock to hold it in place. I am indeed lucky to have this van for my personal use. Thank you owcp for this great opportunity to move around without help. The way this is all put together makes the van a dream.

Grand caravan vs town and country family or foes.
My prior vehicle was a 2013 town and country van. When I started to look for vans again they no longer made that model. I like the van a lot. In many ways it is a twin to my town and country. I like the convenience of the key fob to open the doors and also unlock. On the trim level that I have I missed some of the additional displays that I had in the town and country. I like the econ button which just save gas since a lot of my running around is in town. I have only had my grand caravan for four months but at this point there's been no issues on reliability. The bottom line is I would recommend this vehicle.

I love this minivan. It is very spacious inside without feeling like I am driving a boat. There is a ton of storage, even under the floor if all the seats are up. We like to store one of the captain's chairs and have a big open space to change diapers, sit and have snacks at the park, etc. It has cup holders everywhere you turn and the front seats are so comfortable. I am also so impressed with the steering wheel and front seat heaters, they're perfect in the winter.

One of my favorite features are the rear passenger doors that open and close at the push of a button - not to mention they run parallel on a track so the boys can never door ding anyone! Our van has stow and go seating which comes in handy - I flip the rear seats down and have plenty of room for our double stroller and can make a run to Costco with room to spare! My husband is an ultra tough swat operator and even he loves driving the minivan! His favorite feature are the 2nd row bucket seats. Both boys have their owns seats so there is no squabbling about who is touching who and there is a middle aisle friends can easily walk down to get to the back. Our youngest boy is three months old and in a rear facing bucket seat. Our oldest son is three years old and in a forward facing high back booster seat. Both of their car seats have plenty of room and we're easy to install. The infant car seat base is installed using the 'latch' system and was super easy to install. The forward facing high back booster was just as easy to install with the bucket seat seat belt. Overall we are very pleased with every aspect, the second row bucket seats, the second and third row stow and go seats, doors that open and shut at the push of a button, remote start, and heated seats to make those cold winter mornings a little more bearable.

All the space with all the luxuries.
My grand caravan is amazing! I love the floor storage. I wish the van had navigation but that is an option in other trims. It is big enough to be comfortable for my 9 year old and all of his gear and small enough for me to feel comfortable driving. I do not feel like I drive a utilitarian family van but it is still comfortable.

Minimal flaws, great family car
The wheel slightly blocks the view of the council if you are on the shorter end. There are some blinds spots but they did fairly well keeping them to a minimum. There weren't any car seat clips in the back row. That's a little sad because I babysit quite often and I like having the safety of clipping in and out, but the seatbelts lock so it works. The TV feature is great. I need to order a few more headsets.

My grand caravan is amazing.
It's a great vehicle. Nice lines. Great style and luxury. Drives amazing. Smooth and comfortable ride. Wish I had the DVD entertainment package for the kids. The radio sounds amazing. The interior is great. Hard to keep clean. Love the stow and go seats.

It has remote start, I can open the sliding doors and back with my remote key.
It is not as comfortable as hoped but has plenty of room. Good on gas. Wish it had some more bells and whistles. Love that I can open the doors with my key remote. Has all kinds of spaces for storage to store things and seats go up and down with ease. Driving is not as smooth as what we thought it would be.

Great van for people with limitations do to disabled.
Reliability, great gas mileage, comfortable, great get up and go. Love the feel of it driving. Safe for my family. I have disability that make it hard to drive long on other cars this one I can last twice to 3 times more now. Push button everything hatch side doors so not as painful to use it. You don't feel the speed because drives so nice you can get a ticket. I love my storage. It's in every place I look that could be wasted in other brands. Seats tuck down in flood great for camping. Only thing is pressure sensors acting up. But that is easy fix.

Best minivan for your dollar.
It is a great minivan, for the money you pay it is very reliable. Mine does have some small electrical issues, one passenger sliding door will not open sometimes, and it says I need a oil change when I do not. It gets great gas mileage and is very roomy. Great buy.

Sporty wheelchair accessible van.
I do not have any problems with my 2019 dodge grand caravan. It is outfitted with BraunAbility for wheelchair access through the rear. Absolutely love this van it has rear camera installed for backing up. It is fully loaded with leather seats. The vehicle has plenty of power with its v6 engine. It is white with nice dark tinted rear windows. It has a sport package, the rims are black spoke the grill is black as well. It is a sweet sporty looking wheelchair accessible van, that performs well!

Price/value
Great van.Has everything one needs. Fuel economy good. Comfort great. Good engine power. Fold down seats a winner.Great handling for a van. Great reliability. DO recommended services you will have no problems. Telephone blue tooth is whacked. Comes on automatically. Can not understand commands and is frustrating to use. Worst system I have ever used!!! Will nor accept input from maps and will not voice directions requiring driver to look at iPhone to see directions. Very dangerous. Dealer can’t resolve this. Buy separate tomton!!But for basic model, a competent and well mannered van as good or better than all the others. If maintained by the book, expect 200,000 plus mileage trouble free.

It has three rows and the two rows fold down.
I love my van, it is very roomy, it has store in go seats. All seats are comfortable. It also has a lot of space to put things, it has a thing you can use to charge a cell phone. I like the two glove compartments and storage space and a big trunk area.

The power sliding doors and trunk are great for loading and unloading the family.
I love my dodge grand caravan. We are a family of 5 and it has a lot of space for the whole family. I love to the power sliding doors and trunk. The seats are extremely comfortable as well. The car warms up quickly in the winter and the auto start is a major plus.

I love my Dodge Grand-Caravan
I love my Dodge Grand-Caravan. It drives smooth, it has touch-screen for the radio. The stow-n-go seats are very convenient and easy to use. I can get large items in the van with the seats folded, or have my whole family in it for when we take trips together.

Tons of space for passengers or cargo.
I love all the space it has. Stow and go seats are awesome! Room for lots of kids or family, but fold the seats down and you can transport large boxes or do big shopping trips. Very easy to enter and exit the vehicle. Backup camera is very useful. Haven't had any issues with the van yet. Really wish it had heated seats and remote start. Does not handle the best on slippery roads.

Fix it dodge!
Avoid dodge journeys and caravans at all costs . Still haven’t addressed the numerous brake issues from ten years ago

The armrests fold down! There's cup holders!
My dodge caravan vehicle, I would say, is wholly reliable - it handles well, the speaker system reproduces high-quality sound, and there have been no significant issues with the caravan since it is been purchased. In terms of comfort, each seat has a cup holder for personal convenience, which is great for my family since we always take drinks on the go; the seats are roomy and very comfortable, and lastly, entertainment features such as the aux jack, the bluetooth speakers and the radio are very capable of providing me with the best experience when driving or taking a ride in the caravan. All in all, I'd say it is a great car, and a great pick for big families.

Great van to have. Very roomy.
Dodge grand caravan are really nice vehicles. They drive smooth. There is a lot of room and storage space. I love the under compartments that are in the floor. I was skeptical about a dodge until we drove one on vacation. After that I needed a van that had enough space for my 3 kids. This vehicle definitely has room. I love the steering controls. They are easy to access. I get great gas mileage. 22 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg in town.

Great van for families and kids.
I love everything about my vehicle. The only thing I wish I had was automatic doors. It is really a pain without them. Everything else works great. It is reliable and fits my family great! My kids all have plenty of legroom and room for their stuff in the minivan.
