Nissan benefits and performance of 2019 Nissan kicks.
The Nissan kicks has great gas mileage with an average of 35 mpg total. The Bluetooth function makes it easy and prevents distraction as it will make calls for you and read text messages through the audio function. The driving capabilities are well done and there is no difficulty controlling the vehicle either.

Beautiful Nissan kicks. Nice interior, good sound system, good customer service.
The SUV is very convenient to use for the family. It has radio and with very good speaker for music. The car is spacious, huge trunk for the groceries, back sit for the children, very nice interior, very good air conditioning. The car is very useful for travelling and vacation in the other state of the country. We love the car, its beautiful and very convenient to use. Nissan has very good customer service on their car dealership.

Roomy. Zippy. Absolutely love the kicks.
I really like the sport feature for the added pickup while in traffic. I drive in Austin quite a bit and the rush hour traffic can be hell. There's a lot of room in the vehicle. Whether I am going to sam's club or taking my friends on an adventure, everything fits! Love the versatility of this car. Totally recommend it to anyone!

Great first car - Nissan kicks is durable, reliable, and affordable.
There's no problems, it's great on gas, very reliable, very comfortable, and an amazing first car. It is great on gas, has a convenient rearview camera, and a spacious trunk. The driver seat has an arm rest whereas the passenger seat does not. There are USB charging ports in both the front and back as well as Bluetooth accessibility for hands free calls and music play.

Perfect first car for anyone who’s looking for a car.
The Nissan kicks is really comfortable and just the right size. This car is very reliable I would recommend this car to anyone who’s looking for a first car it is not to big or too small. It is also neither too tall or too close to the ground it is perfect.

It is a great vehicle and comes in amazing colors.
No problems with my 2019 Nissan kicks. It does make a funny wind noise when you over 85 on the highway. It has a very nice detection system that warns you when you're too close to something. It does amazing on gas and is only an 8 gallon tank. It cost me very little to drive 1000 miles.

My vehicle has an ad on of the Bose speakers and I love it.
This car is really nice. It is the right size for me. It has a lot of options and safety feature which is good. This car rides really smooth and comfortable. I am in love if it and I am glad to have it as my first car. There are not any problems that I have had with it.

Run away from the Nissan Kicks!
Purchased my Kicks new. Within 300 miles the cars transmission started making grinding noise. It's been in the shop 4 times and for over a month. They also replaced a leaking strut @ 3,000 miles and a seatbelt. Now the dealership calls me up "Still can't figure out that grinding noise yet, but the infotainment system isn't working now. The best way to end up walking is to purchase a Nissan Kicks. Won't even provide a loaner. Nissan North America customer service is even worse than the kicks. Finally had to hire a lawyer.

Cooling/heating issue
Your either hot or cold in this car. Temp control does not work. Only one arm rest. When you hit a pothole. There is a grinding noise from the front right of car. Maybe front wheel drive. Dont buy

Compact but nice vehicle for meeting your daily needs.
Nissan kicks is a great car with some minor issues that need attention in newer models. There is not enough storage space and areas within the front or back seat of this vehicle. However, the trunk has adequate space for storing groceries and other shopping trip purchases. The backseat is a bit cramped and does not comfortably seat 3 adults as stated but will seat 2 on long trips with comfort. Rides smooth without some of the jarring bumps you encounter in some vehicles. Gas mileage Indecent and this car will be reliable in getting you where you need to go.
accountCircle Sandy W
The kicks is great on gas but ok on the rest.
Comfortable riding. The inside is sharp with trimmed out material. It gets great gas mileage. It has a lot of technical features inside. Gives a readout of average gas mileage, tire pressure, digital display of speed. One drawback is the middle space between two front seats is small not leaving enough room for a lot of things like keys...
accountCircle Mais S
Efficient mileage, comfortable feel and great sound system.
It is comfortable and cozy. It has CarPlay which makes things a lot more interesting and convenient. Its mileage is great, costs around 25-32 dollars for a full tank (in California). A few things could be added and these include an arm rest for the passenger seat. The storage box between the driver and passenger seat is also something that is missing.
accountCircle Kristina E
Nissan kick 2019 minor inconvenience.
Its is not as responsive as my old Honda. Also there's only the front as it gets really hot in the back because of the lack of vents. Also I have been having issues with the volume adjuster. When I try to increase the volume it decreases it instead which is frustrating. I have been using the volume buttons on the steering wheel instead.

Have that heat issue resolved
I do enjoy most things with my Kicks. Real only issue is heat in the winter starting about mid to late November. No matter how long i have heat on the floor or on defrost there is cold air blowing in somewhere and Dealer cannot seem to find it.It seems they dont really care about it,seem to think i should be cold for 5 or 6 months
accountCircle Mary L
Reliable, efficient and affordable.
For the most part the vehicle is very reliable, great on gas and mileage. Some features that I like about the car are it is detailed interior, it is lane assistance, automatic emergency braking system and push to start system. What I do not like about the car is that there is no real console for storage just an extra cup holder; also if I wanted to lay the back seats down for extra storage in the trunk area, the seats do not lay flat, there's about a 2 inch hump. Overall the car is very reliable and affordable and meets my personal needs.

What Do Critics Say About the Nissan Kicks?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Nissan Kicks is a good choice for people looking for an SUV’s ride height but don’t want to pay for extra features, while getting good owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the 2019 Kicks at 3.4/5, enjoying the fuel-efficient engine, but doesn’t like the poor acceleration at highway speeds.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Kicks a 3.9/5, praising the practical features and storage space, but owners don’t like that it doesn’t have all-wheel drive available

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Nissan Kicks Have?

Common problems found on the 2019 Nissan Kicks include the A/C system not blowing cold air, the radar system not working, and rare reports of some throttle body issues. Overall, these problems are similar to other small SUVs on the market, leading to average repair costs as the Kicks ages.

The A/C system not blowing cold air is the most widespread complaint on the 2019 Kicks, showing up within the first 1,500 miles. The problem is usually caused by an issue with the A/C compressor. Replacing the compressor is usually done under warranty when the SUV is new, but out of warranty it can cost over $1,100.

The radar system not working is another problem mentioned by some 2019 Nissan Kicks owners at around 500 miles. Usually, the issue is caused by a sensor or software issue. If it’s a software issue, then simply updating the software fixes it usually, costing under $100. If it’s a sensor issue and the vehicle is out of warranty, then it’s about $750 to replace.

Throttle body issues have also been reported by some 2019 Kicks owners at roughly 60,000 miles, but it’s not a common complaint. The throttle body becomes clogged and has to be replaced to fix the issue. Changing out the throttle body costs around $1,200, depending on local labor rates.

There’s only one recall on the 2019 Nissan Kicks, which is better than some other small SUVs. The recall covers the backup camera not displaying an image on the screen. Nissan will update the backup camera software for free on affected models to fix the problem.

How Long Will the 2019 Nissan Kicks Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Nissan Kicks can last around 200,000 miles, which is shorter than other subcompact SUVs like the Toyota C-HR. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other small SUVs, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $372 per year.

As a used 2019 Nissan Kicks reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the radiator hose for $315, a blower motor costing $475, along with the timing chain tensioner which costs $750.

accountCircle Angela C

Yes very reliable! No problems thus far but it has also been less than a year... So we will see if that changes.

accountCircle Diana A

Not that I have experienced yet. If any problems happen, I have a 7 year/100,000 bumper to bumper warranty.

accountCircle Tony B

It is a very reliable vehicle. I have yet to have any problem with the Nissan kicks. There is a recall on the back up camera but once that was fixed there has been no issues.

accountCircle Dacia T

The 2019 Nissan kicks is so far super reliable. It has not had any issues however I wish the back up camera was a bit more clear it is kind of grainy.

accountCircle Katie K

Extremely reliable and I've not had a single problem since I brought it home. It is such a fun vehicle!

How Is the Technology?

Standard entertainment technology is very good, offering a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity. Optional upgrades include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium Bose stereo system.

  • Forward collision warning
  • Rearview camera
  • Automatic emergency braking

Optional advanced safety features include:

What Colors Does the Nissan Kicks Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Nissan Kicks?

The 2019 Nissan Kicks is designed with comfort in mind, particularly considering its classification as a subcompact SUV.  The seats are supportive and provide adequate cushioning, guaranteeing that both short trips around town and longer journeys on the highway remain comfortable.

The ride quality is smooth, with the Kicks absorbing most road imperfections, thus reducing jolts and bumps for the passengers. Additionally, the cabin is relatively quiet, with minimal intrusion from road and wind noise, further enhancing the comfort levels. The vehicle also offers a range of modern features, such as automatic climate control and an intuitive infotainment system, which make the driving experience more enjoyable and relaxed. However, like all vehicles, individual comfort can be subjective and can vary based on personal preferences.

How Much Storage Space Does the Nissan Kicks Have?

The 2019 Nissan Kicks offers an impressive amount of storage space for a subcompact SUV. Regarding cargo capacity, with the rear seats in use, the Kicks provides about 25.3 cubic feet of room. This space is more than enough to fit a couple of suitcases, grocery bags, or a stroller.

If more space is needed, the rear seats can be folded down to reveal a total cargo capacity of 53.1 cubic feet. This expanded room with the rear seats folded can comfortably accommodate larger items, such as a bicycle, larger musical instruments like a guitar or keyboard, or a substantial amount of camping gear.

VehicleHistory Image

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The first generation of the Nissan Kicks was launched for the 2018 model year.

2018: First model year for the Nissan Kicks which is a smaller SUV added to Nissan lineup.

2019: Engine is slightly less powerful than when it launched last year.

2020: More driver assistance features added to the entry-level model, roof rails removed from standard features.

2021: Minor exterior styling changes, small upgrades to cabin materials, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup.

2022: No changes from earlier years.

How Does the Nissan Kicks Compare to the Competition?

The 2019 Nissan Kicks is a decent small SUV since it offers reasonable reliability ratings and is cheaper than most of the competition, making it a nice choice for shoppers on a budget.

The Toyota RAV4 is a popular small SUV available for about $6,000 more. Passenger room is better in the Toyota RAV4, while the Nissan Kicks fits easier into small parking spots typically found in large cities. We recommend the Toyota RAV4 for most shoppers since it’s more practical, but both are decent choices for the 2019 model year.

The Nissan Rogue is another small SUV from Nissan which can be found for $3,000 more. Cargo and passenger space are both better in the Nissan Rogue, while the Nissan Kicks offers a more responsive steering feel. We recommend the Nissan Rogue since it’s a more practical choice, but both are good and worth test driving to see which you prefer.

Do Owners Recommend the Nissan Kicks?

Yes! It drives very well and it is comfortable enough for 4 people. I drove it up from Chicago to Canada with 4 people comfortably and with no problems. Even though it is not a full size SUV it has nice height to it.

Sleek. Roomy yet still compact. Bluetooth. Nice music system. Big trunk.
I live my kicks. It comfy and reliable. It compact crossover but still has room for the kids things. One issue I have had is that my phone will unsync with the car and it is kind of difficult to reconnect. I sure there is an easy way to fix that but I have not figure it out. It has a lot of pep in its set! Very nice car!

Nissan kicks pros and cons review.
The apple carplay feature is really helpful. The car is great on gas. However, it is not the most spacious or comfortable vehicle. There is not a center console to rest your arm. The vehicle does have great heating and cooling and a start feature which allows you to turn on the car with the key. This is great in the cold winter months.

The Nissan kicks is a great value and vehicle.
I adore my Nissan kicks. It is not a car/hatchback/or a sub SUV...It is a wonderful combination of all 3! I commute one way to work 17 miles and it is always a smooth enjoyable ride. Some of it is city streets and some is highway. The sound system is great land the seamless integration of tech makes it quite the enjoyable purchase. The mpg is excellent. It does not have a lot of horsepower but I have found that to be a very minor issue as I was looking for a daily driver and not something for major distance road trips in the mountains.

Perfect comfy crossover car.
I absolutely love how smooth my kicks drives. It has the compactness of a smaller car but the space and height of an SUV. It is great for travel and grocery shopping. My dog fits perfectly in the back! I love the apple carplay feature as well, and the seats are so comfy. My only complaint is with the push start - you cannot go to drive in movies without it shutting off and going into power save mode. Otherwise, it is perfect!

Nissan kicks overall review.
The car is a great, midsize SUV. It had great trunk and back seat space! The care is lacking some features such as apple car play, remote start, and heated seats. But it is very fuel efficient so that is a good asset! I do wish the car had more features but overall it is a great car!

4.9 out of 5 for the Nissan kick 2019.
The Nissan kick is a 5 star in being reliable, low gas mileage, stylish unlike the juke, maintenance and safety. However, it is a compact SUV crossover, so do not expect anything in performance like going off roading. Highly recommend for young person that needs extra room for moving things etc.
accountCircle Sherry M on June 7, 2021
Cute crossover fun to drive.
The good side of the Nissan kicks is it is a very cute car. It is very good on gas it is only about $20 to fill up the tank. It has a lot of standard features that I wouldn’t expect for the price of the car such as remote start and rear back up camera. The price of the car is very affordable and it also it drives nice. The downside of this crossover is that it can be rattley at times. The longer that I drive the car I can see why it is priced the way it is. I have to say that I haven’t had any type of problem with the car and it is comfortable to drive in and fun. It does not have a center console which I think is kind of strange. But overall I do like it is definitely not a luxury car but it does have a lot of perks.

Great if looking for something a little higher off the ground than a car.
I got my 2019 Nissan kicks shortly after a car accident. I needed something small good for travel for two adults and something not bad on gas. This car served all purposes. I drive an hour to work each day one way. It is not bad on gas and offers a comfortable ride. It is strange the passenger seat does not have an arm rest nor is there a center console. Amazingly stylish and efficient. Very gas friendly automobile.
My Nissan kicks is unbelievably amazing, it is efficient and very economic on gas. It has sensors to help on blind sides, and very stylish. The adjustable seat does not only moves backwards and forward, it can also be adjusted so that the height of the seat is comfortable enough for me to see where I am driving. It also has remote start so that it can be remotely started, really helps during winters to warm it up. The automatic headlights is also a plus when driving at night.

Bose speakers, safety features and CarPlay make it a steal.
The Nissan kicks is actually an incredible car for its price range. The Bose speakers and the warnings for blind spots are my favorite features, not to mention the heated seats and back up camera. I love the Bluetooth connection and that I can listen to podcasts and use apple CarPlay to make driving more fun and more safe. The car feels really nice, I recommend the vegan leather option. It stays clean. It warns you if your about to rear end someone. Does all the things a car that is much more expensive would do. Highly recommend!

I haven’t had a single issue with this car. The interior is gorgeous and I am in love with the Bose surround sound speakers. I have gotten several compliments on the look of the car. The 360 degree camera is my new best friend. Parallel parking? A breeze. Backing into a tight spot? Never easier. I frequently drive in tight city streets with limited parallel parking so this feature is a lifesaver.

It is takes awhile for the car to get up to speed. The drive is smooth but does not keep the outside noise out. It has great gas mileage so even though it has a small gas tank I do not have to fill up as often. The heated seats are wonderful as well as the heated mirrors.

Great car, worth the higher model.
Honestly my car is great however I lease the lower end of the model so it does not have certain features that my old cat did. Because it is a lower model it does not have the feature where I can unlock my car without clicking the fob, I prefer the fob being on me and just pressing a button on the door to unlock it. The Bluetooth connection is a bit inconsistent. Great fuel economy. It is fairly comfortable for someone my height. 5'6'. For a basic, small SUV, it has great pick up when needing to jump on the highway. Do not hear a lot of exterior noise when the windows are rolled up. Rear capacity is decent for everyday things like groceries. I have folded the seats down for furniture to fit inside. Surprisingly, worked out well.

Roomy.

The Nissan kicks is a great small family car.
The Nissan kicks is really good on gas. I was able to fill the tank from e with $10. That was when gas was really cheap during the pandemic. Typical we spend around $20 or less to fill it up. You get about 350< of miles with a full tank. There isn't really any air circulation in the backseat of the car. So if you have small children like I do then you have to pre-air the car before they got in. The back seat is kind of small so if you are a bigger family (ie weight wise) then this car isn't for you. The Nissan kicks has a backup camera featured on the standard model. It has a touch screen monitor in the middle where you are able to change the stations and see incoming texts.

It is practical and delight.
None at all. There are parts of the stereo system I do not understand. Other than that it has handled well and performed well for us. We are quite happy with the value that it has. It is fuel efficient and is very environmentally friendly. We would recommend it to anyone.

Nissan kicks comfortability.
This is a wonderful car and very smooth to drive. The seats are comfortable and many options to readjust to your liking. My only criticism is that the cup holders are very small and there is no middle console. Although it seems very unimportant, the extra space does end up making a huge difference. The back and trunk area has a lot of space so it is great for a first car.

Great car to get you where you want to go whenever you need to get there!
The Nissan Kicks is a great car. Runs beautifully and handles well in all weather conditions. It's seating is comfortable although can be a little cramped in more than 4 people are riding around for any length of time. There could be improvements to storage spaces but other than that I am very pleased with this vehicle and it suits my needs well

Specific likes and dislikes of the Nissan kicks.
Absolutely love the body style and performance! What I do miss that I had on my sentra was the fuel saving feature. I also wish the lights on the inside were the quality of my old sentra. I do love the color of my kicks and love the upholstery design.

Buy Nissan Kicks right now
I love the vehicle it is the best car I have had drives really nice for a small car and looks very nice for a small car. Highly recommend this car if you want a small car that can easily fit 5 people in it and still look good while driving it. Drive the new Nissan kicks.

A compact crossover with an amazing sound system.
The size of the car is perfect - compact, but can hold a lot. The sound system is fantastic. The cameras on the back, as well as the sides, helps with parking and knowing my surroundings. Just behind the headrest, there’s a small blind spot, which can be problematic if you are not paying attention. Overall, this car is amazing and I’d recommend it to anyone who is interested.

It is zippy and has rear camera.
I just started driving and the small size makes it easy to drive. Because it is a small car (without being tiny) it can slide in and out of cars which makes it zippy. It is has really nice features like heated seats, rear camera, Bluetooth and wheel controls but not too expensive.

A very good deal if you want something that looks good and works good.
The car is pretty reliable, I just took a 1,000 mile trip and it worked perfectly fine. The space is pretty ok, is comfortable and you can fit a lot of stuff in it. The Nissan connect works fine, sometimes it restarts by itself but it works effectively. Overall is a pretty good car for a small family or a couple. Very economic in all ways.

The car is blue and black. The interior is black with grey stitching.
My car is blue, and black. The interior is black & stitched with grey. The wheels are silver & black. The gas levels are at an okay. If I could have I would have got my car black on black. But I love my car. The car has about 16,000 miles on it right now.

Nissan kicks. Great gas mileage and size of small SUV.
The kicks gets really great gas mileage and is really smooth. No problems as I haven't driven it much but I can't wait to actually be able to do so. It feels like you are driving a car but it's the size of a small SUV. The price couldn't have been better either.

The Nissan kicks is a perfect starter car.
My 2019 Nissan kicks is performs really well on my day to day commute. It is really great on gas and gets excellent gas mileage. Though it has the look of an SUV, it drives like a car. It is super lightweight so driving on windy days requires a little more handling. From a short trip to a long trip, it is a super comfortable and smooth ride. The steering is precise and I love the roar of the engine when I accelerate. My only problem is that when I go too fast, the screech of the wind hitting the car is very annoying.

My 2019 kicks all black leather interior 3d all around camera 20in alloy wheels.
I haven't had any problems with my kicks, it is comfy on long rides, I drove it to Arizona and back and it did just fine, the gas mileage is amazing! And I love my stereo! I love the looks of it, small but yet it feels bigger in the inside of it. I like how my headlights look and my wheels! It is a low sound running vehicle, it rides pretty smooth as well, I love the 3-d all around camera on the car.

Kicks is fun to drive and safe!
I really love my Nissan kicks. It gets really good gas mileage. It has safety features - my favorite is the side light and beep that lets me know someone is in my blind spot. I can sync my phone with the screen and play my playlist on my phone. It is comfortable and everyone says the back seat has plenty of room.
