Whether you’re an adventurer striking out on your own or you’re looking for a rugged SUV that can handle your family’s daily wear and tear, Jeep has got a vehicle designed for you.

What 2020 models did Jeep Make?

Do Jeep models get good mileage? Are they safe? Which Jeep models can go off-roading? We’ll walk through the various models below and review the key highlights of each one. Remember, one of Jeep’s brand hallmarks is the range of customization features and options that it offers its owners.

Wrangler: $37,914 – $61,620

The 2020 Wrangler has several different trim levels to pick from, depending on whether you want a two-door (Sport, Sport S, Rubicon) or a four-door (Sahara) trim. There are also several special editions to pick from, including the Altitude.

Jeep Model: Blue 2020 Wrangler

Wranglers feature four-wheel drive on all models, and the engine that comes standard is a 3.6-liter V6 capable of 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Upgrading to a turbo four-cylinder 2.0-liter is always a possibility with an automatic transmission; the Sahara also offers a turbo 3.0-liter V6. Wranglers can come with manual (six-speed) or automatic (eight-speed) transmissions, depending on owner preference.

Some additional features and specifications include:

  • 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway
  • Removable top and doors for a more thrilling ride
  • Diesel engine available
  • Owners report that newer models have a smoother ride
  • Four-star crash rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Cherokee: $23,047 – $30,640

Think of the 2020 Jeep Cherokee as the stylish subcompact version of the brand’s Grand Cherokee model. The Cherokee is available in nine trim levels — Latitude, Latitude Plus, Altitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, Upland, North Edition, Trailhawk and High Altitude — that can be customized further to meet the needs of your everyday adventures.

One way the Cherokee stands out from the rest of the Jeep lineup is its steep off-roading capabilities, resulting from its size and features. All versions come either with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Cherokee comes standard with a four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine that delivers 180 horsepower, with optional 3.2-liter V6 (for 271 horsepower) and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder (for 270 horsepower) options. All Cherokees come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Some additional features and specifications include:

  • 22 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway
  • Eighty different standard and optional safety features, to tailor to your driving needs
  • Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and multiple USB ports throughout the vehicle
  • 2019 top Insurance Institute for Highway Safety safety pick when equipped with Collision Warning Plus and LED projector headlamps

Grand Cherokee: $33,365 – $92,844

This is a classic, quintessential SUV, widely lauded as one of the first SUVs that had off-roading capabilities but was also able to deliver a smooth ride to its passengers.

The Grand Cherokee, like other Jeep models, comes in a range of different trim levels that each highlights features suited to fit a particular lifestyle. These 12 trims include the Laredo, Upland, Altitude, North, Limited, Limited X, Trailhawk, High Altitude, Overland, Summit, SRT and Trackhawk, all of which can be individually customized further. The wide range of customization options is a key part of the Jeep brand, which seeks to cater to its owners.

These customization features extend all the way through to the engine, with four different engine options available. The base standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6, bringing 295 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. From there, buyers can upgrade to a 5.7-liter V8 (360 horsepower, 390 lb.-ft.), 6.4-liter V8 (475 horsepower, 470 lb.-ft.), or even a 6.2-liter V8 with a snappy build that makes it capable of 707 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque.

Some additional features and specifications include:

  • 11-19 mpg in the city, 17-26 mpg on the highway
  • Premium Lighting Group available on select models for better safety
  • Active Safety Group available on lower-level trims
  • 6,200-pound towing capacity with the V6 engine; 7,200-pound towing capacity with V8
  • Optional air suspension to make the smooth ride even smoother

Compass: $23,456 – $29,726

While not much changed for the 2020 model year versus previous years, the 2020 Jeep Compass offered more safety features across all of its trim levels (Sport, Latitude, North Edition, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk and High Altitude) than ever before.

Gray 2020 Jeep Compass From Front-Driver Side

The 2020 Compass comes standard with a four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine capable of 180 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission that can be upgraded to an automatic (six- or nine-speed options available). Front-wheel drive is standard but can be upgraded to four-wheel drive.

Some additional features and specifications include:

  • 22 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, 25 mpg combined
  • More safety features available, including rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and automatic high-beam headlights
  • Trailhawk trim optimized for off-roading with features including lifted suspension, skid plates, hill descent control, and Active Drive four-wheel-drive system
  • 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space
  • No hybrid powertrain for the 2020 model year

Renegade: $22,110 – $26,072

The 2020 Jeep Renegade is a somewhat controversial vehicle, based on reviews from test drivers and owners alike. While many people find it to be a fun car to play with, some of the features and upgrades feel a bit limited compared to the rest of the Jeep lineup. Upgrading to the turbocharged four-cylinder 1.3-liter engine only nets a 0-to-60 time of 90 seconds, which leaves some people recommending you just stick to the base model and enjoy the ride.

The base engine is a four-cylinder 2.4-liter, and a nine-speed automatic transmission comes standard on all Renegade trims. The front-wheel drive can be upgraded to all-wheel drive, which opens up a 2,000-pound towing capacity. What this reduced power does bring is improved fuel economy over other Jeep models, which summarizes the trade-off SUV owners have to face between gas mileage and power.

Some additional features and specifications include:

  • 24 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway
  • New telematics unit across all models
  • LED Lighting, Safety and Security, Advanced Tech packages now available on lower trims
  • Average ratings from IIHS and NHTSA

Gladiator: $40,454 – $64,325

For the first time in 27 years, Jeep made a pickup truck — and Jeep aficionados couldn’t be happier with its off-road abilities and high towing capacity, alongside a surprisingly smooth ride in a four-door cabin. Available in four trims — Sport, Overland, Mojave and Rubicon — the Gladiator comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine capable of 285 horsepower. Transmission options include an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual.

Jeep Model: Gray 2020 Gladiator

Some additional features and specifications include:

  • 16 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway
  • Gasoline or diesel V6 options
  • Removable top and doors, making it the only convertible truck
  • Towing capacity of 7,650 pounds, making it the top of its class
