They shouldn't have changed a thing on it!
This has been the best vehicle we have ever had. It has been flawless in handling and comfort. The mileage has been very good too. Not one problem with it at all!
accountCircle Silas M
Quality of AWD and interior.
It has done a great job in the snow and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the interior. I would like to have a hitch receiver however.
accountCircle Hanna L
Great car, good gas mileage and stylish.
Very good reliable vehicle. It may be a bit weak under the hood which may be noticeable when entering the highway. It is very good with gas mileage. Other than that I think it is very stylish and would highly recommend it. My sister even got one just like it and loves hers too.

Navy blues 4 door with sunroof. Plenty of room in the front / back seat of car.
I purchased the car in January 2018. I have had no problems since I purchased the car. I do not particularly like the way the car accelerates. Also there is a blind spot on the passenger side of the car. I have to turn my head, looking out the passenger rear view mirror to see if anyone is coming.
accountCircle Carol F
A great car that I would recommend to my friends.
I mostly use my terrain for longer car rides (200 miles) and it rides really well with great gas mileage on the highway. I haven't experienced any problems except the usual maintenance keep ups every couple of months (oil, tires, etc.). Winter is very long and having remote start is a big help.
accountCircle Tricia V
I like my terrain very much.
Goes great in snow. Pretty good gas mileage. No problems with it. Leather is nice. Cargo holds both my dogs. Deer hit me and repairs weren't too expensive. Heat works well. Air conditioning works well. Bought at a really good price. Not planning on trading it any time soon.
accountCircle Angela F
There is plenty of legroom for back seat riders.
I haven't had any problems with my GMC terrain. I really like the body style. It is navy blue in color, very pretty, it is very stylish which is very important to me. I think the back up camera is my favorite feature, it makes me more comfortable when backing up where there are people and other cars. It is comfortable which is important because I have to take my father to different appointments and I have to have something dependable to make sure he gets to all of his appointments. It has heated seats which is great when it is cold outside. It has a roomy cargo area. I really like this car and would recommend it for anyone.

I love my 2016 GMC terrain.
I just bought my 2016 GMC terrain and I love it. My SUV has heated and leather seats that are comfortable and durable. My SUV handles great and is very reliable in the snow. Some of the features that I love about this vehicle are the automatic hatch, the backup camera, remote starter, heated leather seats and the space. I would recommend this SUV to anyone who is looking for a reliable car for everyday use especially in snowy areas. The one and only things I would prefer this SUV to have is a larger motor. It has a 4 cylinder and it would perform much better on hills and take off with a 6 cylinder.

It is big. Hard to drive and hard to park. I would never buy this brand again. And I always buy GM cars or trucks. It is well made. But very difficult to drive and par. I hate it but my husband loves it
It looks nice and there is lots of room. But it is very hard to drive. Way too big. I would trade it in a minute

This vehicle is junk. I switched from Ford but I will be switching back.
I bought my car, in October 2016, as certified pre owned from the dealership with 17, 000 miles on it. I drive my car a normal amount to work and back and general running around. Last year my car would not get out of first gear took it to the dealership and they had to rebuild the transmission. It still is not right and now it is out of warranty. Also, my battery died less than 2 years owning the car which wasn't covered. I really do not like my car I will be switching back to Ford next year when I have this piece of trash paid off.

GMC terrain lacks power, poorly designed console.
The biggest complaint I have, is that the engine does not have enough power. I avoid highway driving as much as possible. Also, the layout of the dash is poorly designed. The controls are unintuitive, and ergonomically incorrect. The driver must lean forward and reach considerably to access the stereo controls.
accountCircle Rebecca S
Nice looking. Poor gas mileage. Too expensive for the quality of car.
I loved my 2015 terrain then traded it in for a 2016. This car is a lemon- I have brought it back for transmission issues 3 times and it still does not run right. It is disappointing because the terrain is very comfortable and a nice looking car. But I will not get another GMC because of this car.
accountCircle Sarahi V
Not worth the price. Way to expensive for poor quality.
Right after 2 years with my vehicle it got an issue a leak on the gasoline deposit. I feel that it is not worth the price. It’s an expensive vehicle for such poor quality. The noise it makes is annoying . Also around the same time this vehicle has an issue with the window.
accountCircle Terry J
Terrain. The terrain is a reliable, dependable car.
I really haven't had any problems with my car. It has good performance, reliability, and good features. However, I miss an SUV that sits higher. I have had issues with my headlight and being able to see distances in the rain and darkness. I had to have the highlights adjusted which helped me somewhat, but it is still hard to see at night.
accountCircle Marsha V
I have more problems with it than with our other cars.
The blower leaks constantly, and it has already been replaced once but did it again right after. The electrical panel is "fried, " too.
accountCircle Mary S
It has got power and goes fast. I don't know if anyone really cares
It drives like a truck and whoever designed it doesn't drive much.

Awesome vehicle which gets gold star for reliability.
Extremely reliable vehicle. Good performance with decent gas mileage. Excellent cargo capacity. Smooth quiet ride. No squeaks or rattles. Still have original brakes at 85000 miles. Would have preferred keyless ignition. My only gripe is resale value does not seem right.

I consider my car as my favorite., since I have this I want it and love it.
I love my slt terrain 2016, it's a friendly car. I can go wherever I want and I just enjoy driving it. I just like the size, it's very comfy, the trunk is huge. The set are good and the size of the whole car. I love the color of my car also and a good size for SUV. I am very much satisfied driving my car for 3 years with me..

Pros from Owners

The GMC Terrain is a great vehicle. I can say that when I am in need of a new vehicle I will be interested in another Terrain. The ride is smooth and comfortable. It is the perfect size for me being a single young adult. I am from the north so we have a lot of snow and it does amazing in the snow, better than any other vehicle I have had and I have heard that from other people too.

likeFilled Kristi B.

The Terrain is a very comfortable ride. My family of 4 fits great in it. Not only is it comfortable but it looks great as well. The vehicle is built well and can handle just about anything my two boys throw at it.

likeFilled Cherie L.

This is a very reliable car. It has plenty of storage space. This car also gets decent gas mileage. I have owned an older Terrain that had recalls on it and so I purchased this car for my use. My Terrain SLE handles very well and fits my family of 4 very well but will seat 5 comfortably. My children are learning to drive and it is a very dependable car that is easy to drive. The stereo system works quite well and it does have access to streaming radio services. We have taken the car on long trips and the trip has been comfortable for all. We enjoyed the streaming radio service for the trip and everyone was happy.

likeFilled Juliana T.

It's very comfortable, very spacious and very safe for children it is very gas economic. The vehicles parts are also very economical. The only issue is it does not come with Bluetooth to listen to music with your phone you have to use an AUX cord.

likeFilled Mary G.

I like the interior for leg & head room. Vehicle is low maintenance with good gas mileage. The back up camera is a great feature. The terrain fits 5 people comfortably. I like the choice of colors available. The light grey is easy to maintain.

likeFilled Dawn I.

Drives great. Sunroof. It has OnStar. Comfortable and looks nice.. Plenty of room for my dog. Good w gas and so far it has been easy maintenance. I like the color and the interior. Nice room in the hatchback.

likeFilled Brenda W.

It is comfortable and gets good gas mileage. The seats are very easy to lay down. It has a lot of space when the seats are down. The air conditioner is very good and cools really quickly. The backup camera is very helpful and was a feature I requested when shopping for a new car.

likeFilled Maddie H.

Very reliable. Gas mileage is very good. Stereo is excellent. Fits 5 people very comfortably with room in the trunk for storage. Drivers seat is powered. Has lumbar and back support. Back seats fold down for maximum storage in the trunk.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Lauryn C.

The engine is smaller than I am used to so start off takes a little longer than I would like. The trunk space could be bigger also. I find quite a bit that I run out of room in the back fast and that just after going grocery shopping.

dislikeFilled Kristi B.

I haven't found very many things I dislike about the Terrain. I do wish it was a little wider to provide a little bit more room. I also wish a sunroof was an option on this vehicle. I also wish it had a navigation system.

dislikeFilled Cherie L.

It is a larger vehicle so the gas mileage is not as good as that in smaller vehicles. The seats in my current model are leather and so they are hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There could be more storage in the front of the car as placing multiple cups in the passenger section is a difficulty.

dislikeFilled Juliana T.

Have to use a aux cord for you to listen to your music other than that everything it's okay. I couldn't find anything wrong. She works perfectly and have not had any problems with her since bought. But not every person is the same.

dislikeFilled Mary G.

I would like more storage space. Interior could have better vinyl for cleaning. Would like more added standard features like lane change and navigation system included as standard feature. Could have better upgraded standard spare tire.

dislikeFilled Dawn I.

The car note is expensive. GMC has not really checked in to ask anything about my purchase. I had to get used to the safety lights on my mirrors. I still don't understand everything that my car can do.

dislikeFilled Brenda W.

The backup camera takes several seconds to come on when the vehicle is put in reverse. Sometimes at night the camera is blurry. The vehicle has a blind spot when looking for oncoming traffic from the driver seat to the passenger seat.

dislikeFilled Maddie H.

The vehicle does not have Bluetooth music it has calling but no music which is a big con. The cloth of the seats is a little uncomfortable after a while because of the holes in it. The screen sometimes has some bugs to it.

Is The 2016 GMC Terrain A Good Value?

When brand new the 2016 GMC terrain was in the price range of $25,000 to $35,000. I am purchasing mine used for around $16,000. Which is a very good value in my opinion.
Jonathan R.

Monica M.
Seventeen thousand nine hundred and eighty nine dollars. I feel it is a great value for what it is very affordable.
John W.
Yes it was an excellent value. It cost $ 12,000 & only had 1 previous owner with less than 10,000 miles on it.
Britney H.
I would say now that 2016 Terrain was overpriced. Resale value dropped significantly after purchase making refinancing impossible.
Bailey M.
I believe the cost of my terrain was $37000. I think it was a good value. The car has been nothing but good things to say about it.
Shelby S.
I think the version I got was around $34,000. I traded in my mid-sized car, a Malibu. I mainly traded my car in for the Terrain because my kids needed additional leg room.
Tiara M.
My Terrain was $28,000 and was purchased when it was a year old. I think it is a good value considering the price.
