You will have to buy this model used - but it is worth it.
I had previously owned the same model in 2004. Obviously I thought it very functional to buy it again 8 years later. The car is basically a midsize SUV. When the back seat is folded it has a huge, level are for transporting items. The car handles responsively and is pleasant to drive. It has been trouble free. By today's standards it was inexpensive, costing about $23,00.

Title would be 'Reliable grocery getter'.
Engine is strong and very reliable. Underpowered and gas mileage should be better than 30 mpg combined city/highway. Very cheap and unreliable trim parts. Three of four plastic door handles snapped off when just attempting to open the doors. Three of four wheel covers were lost under normal driving conditions. This is second matrix I have owned but the first was a Pontiac vibe with upgraded trim package. This car is a reliable grocery getter.

It will pay for itself 12x over, compared to poorly-engineered?American? SUVs.
I have a newborn and the car is too small for car seat to fit comfortably. Really enjoy the hatchback instead of having a trunk, it has allowed me to fit large items in with ease.

My car is an all wheel drive hatchback.
I really do not have anything bad to say about my car. I just wish I had the money to keep up on regular maintenance and repairs. It runs well, does not take too much gas, and a rides smoothly. It is held up well considering how much I drive. I also love that it is AWD.

A lifetime of Toyotas for this gal!
Have had Toyotas for many years. Always reliable, long lasting, good looking, and comfortable. I now own a 2012 matrix and will be looking at buying a brand new rav4 hybrid in 2021. I cannot imagine owning any other make after over 35 years of success with Toyotas, from trucks to vans to cars.

The Toyota matrix should still be made.
The aux does not work well, and I only listen to music on my phone. Otherwise it runs well, is great on gas, and very comfortable to drive and be in. Very roomy for a smaller car and plenty of leg and trunk space. Comfortable seating, easy to steer, and lots of storage space as well.

It is very reliable and hasn't had any issues yet!
I like how reliable it is. It gets great gas mileage, and makes me feel safe. It also has plenty of room for passengers and luggage.

Quick and fast some repairs required after years of abuse.
The vehicle performs fine, I have had to replace the brake coupler since they were rusted this year. This is due to buying the car used from someone else who kept the car full time outdoors. I have had to replace one of the tires due to it getting a hole in the tire. This is due to the car riding low and it popped from going into my old driveway. The car handles very well though, it has great pickup and it gets to speed quickly. The breaking is also excellent since it allows for me to come to emergency stops quickly.

Great on gas mileage and has wonderful safety features.
Perfect size, great gas mileage, fits the lifestyle of our household, great longevity, smooth on the road, although it could be a little larger.

It is a reliable vehicle with great gas mileage and requires low maintenance.
I bought this vehicle when I was single and didn't have any children. I think it is great for a single person or a couple. It drives well, has a low maintenance cost, and has a great gas mileage. However, it is to small for a family of five. It does not have enough space to comfortably fit two car seats.

It is dependable. It is good on mileage. It is very comfortable to drive long distances.
The trunk is too small and high. The side mirrors are too high. I like the mileage.

My Matrix gets terrific gas mileage, in town or on the highway.
I have had a Toyota in the driveway for most of my adult life. My current vehicle is a 2012 Matrix, a fine little 4 door hatchback that has never let me down.

I love my car. With very easy access,
More powerful engines made the matrix's 2009 redesign feel more eager to drive. We measured an impressive 27 mpg overall from the optional 2.4-liter four-cylinder; all-wheel-drive remained an option. This tall hatchback has more passenger and cargo space than most competitors, and the high roof eases entry and exit. Folding the rear seats and the front passenger seat lets you haul extra-long cargo.

I am sorry they discontinued making this model as it is a very practical auto.
I like the fact that the back seat fold down to make a very spacious storage area. I would like better visibility from the windows. I owned the same auto previously (2004) and it had bigger windows.

It's spacious and comfortable, and an okay camping vehicle in a pinch.
The Matrix Sport is a good hatchback with a lot of power. It's a bit big, especially for a hatchback, but uses that size well. It's less has efficient than most vehicles in its class, though.

Toyota matrix - no frills but extremely reliable!
Very reliable car that drives well even in mountain conditions. The cab noise can be slightly loud while driving and the interior is pretty bare bones in terms of features but it gets you where you need to be and you do not have to worry about breaking down! Overall I am very happy with it is performance.

2012 matrix with 326,000 miles.
I have only had the vehicle for a year, but it currently has 326,000 miles and seems to ride fairly smooth. The vehicle is reliable and very rarely gives any issues. The air conditioner works pretty well. I would prefer to have a radio that receives satellite radio signal.

Great compact car with great gas mileage and comfortable seats.
I really like the car that I have because it is compact but has trunk space for some things to transport. I do not personally do much transporting of things so the smaller hatchback trunk is perfect. The gas mileage is good, the radio/CD player/aux cord connector all suit my needs, although I do sometimes wish I could connect my phone through Bluetooth to answer calls while driving. One issue with my car specifically is the tires, but this is because I have low-profile (thinner) tires and the tire light is nearly always on, whether I just filled the tires or not. Overall, this is a very reliable, comfortable, and well-sized car for me (a college student).

Toyota matrix a friend you can trust.
Its reliable, has lots of space, great on gas, it never lets me down, small enough to park, yet spacious inside, its comfortable, no mechanical problems ever, ac system and heat works wonderful, has enough cup holders, plain simple dash that do not distract you, everything is easy to find.
