Great car, sensor has issues.
The only problem I have had consistently is my sensors have been funky for a while. Telling me that my lights do not work (when they do). I love the handle on this car and how easy it is. Gas is cheap to fill. It is a fun little car with a surprising amount of space.

Despite how small it looks on the outside, it is quite spacious.
The car is high in miles, so it is bound to have some issues, but most I can fix myself. The car is spacious and has great gas mileage. For enthusiasts, there are not many engine mods for this trim, so you'll most likely be wanting a gti if that is your alley.

Great little car my VW golf.
It drives like the day I first bought it after 170k miles. It is a little more expensive to maintain versus other foreign cars like Toyota or Honda, but better quality. The dealerships have always done a fine job with maintenance or repairs. My VW golf has good space for storage and comfortable.

Heated seats are amazing!
The car has started to rust early and the brakes sometime drag. The car is very comfortable to drive and suitable for a small family. It is a solid car in the snow when it has snow tires. So far it has been a reliable car and has made a couple long trips.

Great little car for city living.
It is had various small issues over the years (electrical problems, door handles unreliable) but no major defects. Performance is good, it is been a very reliable little hatchback. Great for city life - small enough to park in tight spaces but with surprisingly high capacity inside for transporting stuff. Cute and practical. I do wish the fuel economy was a little better.

I have a fully functional sunroof which opens all the way.
I love my car it has good speed and comfort. It is and always has been very reliable I have had no major issues with it and have kept up to date with all services and guidelines. It runs well in all weather conditions and is very user friendly. It remains modern and does not feel outdated at all.

Our vehicle is black and has a hatchback.
The clutch and brakes have worn out over time, drives for long distances very well. Handles all types of weather. Has lots of room once seats fold down for extra storage. Love to bring friends and the pets inside and they love coming in the car. Great purchase.

That it gets really great gas mileage, pretty easy to maintain.
It is small, convenient for quick travel without using a lot of gas, still spacious enough for others to ride along.

That if you car about the environment or fuel efficiency it is a great car
I like it because it is reliable and gets good mileage. I do not like that it is not very prestigious

A good car for small families.
My car was bought secondhand, so I believe my problems are mostly related to basic wear and tear. I have a hard time with stains, and the car I bought is heavily stained. I cannot seem to feel comfortable in it because of the visual, but it is a good little car. Still runs well, is reliable even though it is second hand. Not ideal if you travel with a lot of cargo or baggage, but it is great for everyday family use. I have a little brother and I think he enjoys the room he has for his car seat. Radio sounds great, perfect amount of bass, and for me a radio is all I'll ever need.

It is a good value for the money
Economical. Attractive. Good performance

The vehicle is great for road trips as the seats fold down and you can camp in it. It eats gas like crazy! Parts are difficult and expensive to replace. Something is ALWAYS wrong, always!
The car has been great during the winter moths. I feel very safe driving it.

Small in size steady in performance.
Overall a good car. Has had a few electronics issues over the years, but mostly reliable. Smooth ride. Drives very tightly. Great for zipping around town. Small so easy to fit in tight spaces. Over the years the headliner has started to fall down, which is not atypical for most cars.

A normal guys review of his vehicle.
The golf is a great vehicle. It is reliable, fun to drive, and really roomy for how small it is. I think that it is fun to drive for a modest hatchback. My biggest problem with the car is that it is expensive to maintain. I tried to do some of the work myself and you need very specific told to do some of the jobs which makes it hard for people to do at home. If you live in a large city there will be a dealership nearby that it should be taken to but all the parts are very expensive. If it was a bit easier to work on at home or a big cheaper to maintain I would give it five stars.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Katelynn S.

I love how it drives and the color and the model of it a lot. Super sporty and cute. Everything works well even though it is been a few years and it is still running really well. I am pleased with the purchase of this car overall.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Katelynn S.

The engine has weird issues and I feel like I have to get maintenance a lot on it. The clutch has worn down a lot and every time you take in your car it costs more because the parts are so specific and most places do not carry them.
